Possible Dream Sign
I believe this is my first post, so a good hello to everybody on dreamviews! Great site! :)
Anyway, I only have about 5 dreams in my DJ, but 2 out of those 5 so far have this peculiar theme. Its not a lucid dream though, just a normal one. I think it may be a dream sign, but I'm not sure. It basically describes the concept of something above me, if that makes sense. There's almost always something weird going on above me. One dream, there was a shadow-like monster that was on the ceiling of my "dream" bed in a random dreamscape. (The place was sort of like an old hotel) I never fully saw the thing, because that's when I woke up.
In another dream the same night, I was riding home on my school bus that I rode on during the school year. I couldn't find my friend, so I asked a DC (Again, this dream is also normal, not lucid) and the DC said that my friend was outside on the top of the bus doing something. The DC wasn't surprised, and I wasn't either. Then my friend stuck his head down from the top like a monkey, and I waved him a peace sign.
Those two instances in the dreams could have been unrelated, but does it sound like a dream sign to you? If so, what sort of reality checks could I use to help me gain lucidity? I know I'll need a lot more entries in my DJ to find out for sure, but I just got a little excited. Sorry for the long post. Thanks. :)

Welcome to DreamViews. That very well could be a dream sign. You can start reality checking when anything is above you, or anything interesting. The reality check I use is quite interesting, but common. I push one finger into the palm of my hand, and see if my finger goes into my hand. If it does, I am dreaming.
Keep writing in your journal and seeing if this appears again.

Thanks. :) I was just really excited when I had those dreams last night. I find the whole concept of lucid dreaming to be so epic. That's why I'm so itching to have one. I like that reality check you do too. I should try it, as it sounds a lot better than when I just do the default RC of staring at my hands.

Yeah, lucid dreaming is very exciting. Just keep practicing, if you get good enough you can lucid dream every night :)
