I wish I knew!
I know exactly what you mean. I'll have times where I can only remember a few snapshots of dreams...basically like a photo album. Then I'll have times where I can recall the whole thing as if it were a movie that I just watched.
If anyone else knows, I think there would be a lot of people interested in some tips.
At the end of a dream recently I was actually sitting in front of a computer looking at a page of thumbnails representing the scenes of the dream I had just had. I got excited and saved the thumbnails as a PDF so that I could remember it when I woke up. I sort of knew I was dreaming, but without being lucid.
Unfortunately when I woke, I couldn't remember what the thumbnails actually looked like, only that I had seen them. Couldn't remember the dream before them either.
I've also been having dreams lately of being on DV and having convos with members.
I think just focusing on improving your recall and trying to remember ALL the details will help.
I can advise (also do what mancon said, it could just be due to poor dream recall), to tell yourself next time you see this strange slideshow you will realise your dreaming, then you can use lucidity to regain control of your dreams.
The idea might be farfetched but I've never heard of this before, are you sure it's not just a one off?
Happy Dreams ;)
