      Recall Helps....why?

Im just wondering why good dream recall helps you become lucid more often in your dreams.I can remember about 2-3 dreams a night now, but Can't seem to get lucid...

Can some one tell me how its suppose to help?

Sorry if this was asked before, if it was, just point me to the right topic, thanks.

Well, the most obvious way it helps is it makes it less likely that you'll forget a lucid dream . But seriously, there are a few other ways it helps, for example, as you remember your dreams, you'll begin to notice common themes (dream signs) , if you learn those themes (dream signs), you'll begin to realise that your dreaming just by noticing them.

When you increase one thing like dream recall lucidity seems easier to accomplish because you don't have to worry about other factors affecting your ability. When you have a high recall you have more chances to become lucid. Why wouldn't you want more chances than 1 to become lucid?

Yup Alex and Yume are absolutely right. Dream recall makes it easier for you to obtain lucidity just by ventures that you are able to relate to like a deja vue' kinda scenerio. You want to enhance your memory and dream recall helps you do that so that you can pick up scenerios that can give you direction to discovering that OMG! I remember this happening! Let me do a reality check...

Well i guess that makes sense, but I think I should of already had a Lucid dream, because for 3 nights now I have been able to remember 2 -3 dreams each night... So aren't I do for a Lucid soon?

      And.......

Isn't Deja Vu when one eye recieves and sends a signal to the brain a split second before the other eye, thus making you think it has already happened?Because If I remember right, the brain can't distinguish between such a short period of time, or a long period of time, you just know that it happened before.

Thats the scientific outlook and explanation for what science can't understand. I've heard that before and that never made sense to me.

The work to gain Lucidity comes after having a good recall. It can take years. The more dedication the more likely you will have one.

If you remember your dreams, then you'll naturally spend more time thinking about them, and the subject of dreaming in general. So then it'd be more likely for a thought about dreaming to pop into your head while actually dreaming.

I think another way that it helps is that it makes you familiar with what it feels like to be dreaming -- if you don't remember your dreams, you won't know the feeling very well.

That simple feeling of being in a dream is often what triggers lucidity for me.

not just from having great recall. years ago i had incredible recall for many months and not one lucid dream came from it. i didnt know about dream signs or other methods at the time though like i do now. so yeah work on what i am right now, connecting the dream signs with the notion that your dreaming.

I'll put my word on this...My recall is really good...Jay Dawg knows it...for a few nights here and there i would have 5 dreams....then 6 dreams.....then another 6...and then one night i had 8 dreams...I have about over 30 maybe 40 dreams in my Dream Journal...ive had 7 Lucid Dreams, in about 5 months that i have been doing this...maybe 2 or 3 of them are actually in my Dream Journal--cuz i started my Dream Journal maybe 2 months ago---

But the thing is..is you cant expect to have a Lucid Dream..If you pressure yourself and say "I want a Lucid Dream so fricken bad" more then likely it wont happen--trust me, ive had first hand experience..For a while..I kept reading up on Lucid Dreaming and constantly that was the only thing on my mind, to the point where i would only have 1 to 2 dreams a night, and wake up not remembering a thing..until one night im just like

"Hey...Relax....It will happen when it happens" and from then on, i have been having dreams that i can remember fully and that i have been keepin in my dream Journal..I have had 2 Lucid Dreams in one week--The first time it has ever happened to me...

Normally i would only have 2 Lucid Dreams a month...so am i getting better at Lucid Dreaming?? Who know's, i cant say...only my subconcious mind can give me the answer..Because 2 Lucid Dreams' in a week, coudl be a one time thing....And i could go back to having 2 Lucid Dreams a month...who knows, but im not gonna sit and pressure myself and get mad if i dont have alot of Lucid Dreams....Lucid Dreaming, to me...is a gift..everyone is different, therefore everyone's Lucid Dreams are ment to come at a different time..some come alot, some come a few a month....

But what you can start doing is..after you get alot of dreams down in your Dream Journal....Go back, and pinpoint where you should have known you were dreaming..I did this the next day after i had 8 dreams...and i told AQUANINA "Hey, i can now pinpoint where i should have known i was dreaming" She replied back "Well good, now all you gotta do is get a hold of it, and you will have a Lucid Dream in no time"

Sure enough, that night...I had my 7th Lucid Dream--2days ago---i wasn't that focused, cuz the way it all happened kinda tossed me off guard...

But dont give up, and also, dont pressure yourself...just go with the flow, take our tips and do the best you can..If you want...go pick up some Vitamin B6, i will tell you first hand that it does help with VIVID DREAMS, but i have noticed that when i take it at night, my Dreams are harder to recall then if i just didnt take it...

So until then...relax....clear your mind...tell yourself....it will happen...cuz Dreaming, just like life...is an everyday thing....and somepoint, just like in life.....you must take control...

so the reason you will have a LD if you stop thinkin bout lucid dreaming is because its in ur subconscious(spelling?) and dreams are images from ur subconcious thus you will prolly have a LD?
