Making dreams more clear and vivid

I have dream recall down, but my dreams just don't seem real enough. It feels as if I'm watching my dreams through murky water and it looks kind of dark. Is there a way to make my dreams feel more real? I barely even have any sounds in my dreams. Just wondering if theres a good way to make my dreams more realistic.

I already keep a dream journal, i already know about sleeping the same time every night, already know about apple juice.

I had the same problem like yours back then. Anyways, i suggest you meditate before going to bed. Go to a silent corner, and forget about everything that happened during the day and think only of dreams. This way, you'll be more focused in the concept of dreaming. Also, try autosuggestion. Tell your self that the dreams you're having are crystal clear and in HD. Hope this helps and feel free to reply back :)

Stabilizer's are also supposed to help. Try rubbing your hands, spinning around, and yelling in your dream.

I find that the more observative I am in waking life, the more I tend to remember about my dreams when I wake up from them. Just like how our mannerisms and habits carry over into dreams, so can our level of attention to surroundings, and a big part of recall is knowing what one's surroundings were like - the atmosphere, textures, spaces... Try being a little more aware of what's around you and see how it works out. :)

I completely agree with both Puffin and weakamon on this one. Being observant of your surroundings and your senses throughout the day contributes greatly to your dream clarity, even in short bursts. Meditation before sleep also helps to clear your mind of the useless clutter and make you more focussed when you're dreaming.

I guarantee that if you start sporadic awareness and some light meditation, that the clarity of your dreams will increase dramatically :)

I'm finding this works the other way too. As I have been improving my dream recall and paying more attention to my dream detail, my pictorial memory in WR has greatly improved.

Everyone above me has a very good point.

Usually stabilizing your dream aids in vividness and length.

Try spinning around, touching dream objects, rub your hands together and yelling.

Also if your in the water tell yourself, this is your dream and I have control. Make sure you say this and have positive enthusiasm.
