So I've been having a very bad dry spell for a while, no lucid dreams in a year (that I can remember) and to top things off my recall is starting to go bad. Any advice on how to get back my good recall and get lucid again?

Instead of a dream journal... which can be a bit clumsy and burdensome for dream recall , try using a digital recorder to keep track of your fresh dreams. A little trick I have learned over the years is to attempt to visualize the most recent dream to attain a LD. Good luck to you!
For my own recall, which i'm trying to fix up at the moment, I tend to wake up once or twice during the night. Upon wakening, I just lay there and empty my mind (void meditation). After a few seconds, I get memories of whole dreams or fragments rushing back.
@faceonmars - for curiosity's sake, with this technique of yours to attain lucidity, how often do you get lucid?
Ey there,
I recommend you to get yourself a dream journal. It usually does the trick. Also, whenever you wake up, remain still and act as if you're still asleep. While you're in that state, try to remember your dreams. If you're having still having trouble remembering dreams while you're in that state, think of a random word and associate it related words. For example: Basketball=Michael Jordan=Space Jump=Warner Bros=Batman=Joker=Clown=Circus=Juggling=etc. I'm sure that at some point of that chain of words, you'll bump into a keyword that might trigger your memory. Hope this helps
P.S.
eating peanuts(or other foods rich in b12) before sleep might improve your recall.
okay, thank you all for the advice ^_^
