I could read in my dream but what i read was about dreaming

in my dream i was a person joining a group and i had to chose my status so they showed me a list and i read dreamguide and i thought to advanced so i moved down and there were animal names cant remember what they were so they were not that important at the end of the list i read dream vortex so i chose that rank.
usually in dreams you cant read but I could read so was this a dream sign or somehting.

I think that sometimes you can read in a dream and other times you can't. I have been able to read before and other times I couldn't make anything out. I guess it just depends on the type of dream.

Yeah, it always frustrates me that I can't read in dreams...whenever I try I find my eyes get all squinty, and i end up having to force my eyes open, which just wakes me up
But what about writing? I had a dream the other night where I was writing in a notebook...I have a feeling that it was really important or profound, but I can't remember what it was!
I can't remember a dream where I was able to write before, so that's what makes it so weird

I read the title of a book in a lucid dream once, I also looked at a pop up book once, but I'm sure that doesn't count as reading, I think you can read small amounts of words at one time.

letters are just pictures of lines arranged in a diffrent way thats all, so it's hard for your mind to keep track of what your reading.

To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause

I think the "reading small amount of words at a time" statement is true. I had a dream two days ago where I was holding a TI-83 calculator, (you know, one of those fancy expensive ones where you can type out messages), and I remember reading the word DENVER on someone's calculator when someone asked me a question about a sports team, and also the word KANSAS on mine as someone's last name.

I feel like an idiot, it only clicked now to me that they're both places.

re. Reading in dreams .Last night I dreamt I was reading a very ancient and sinister book in Latin which turned out to be a history of all evil .As I was half way through it I was so absorbed that I was taken into the narrative and became part of it .I was taken at night through the streets by a hideously decayed corpse Like a sort of Mephistopheles who led me past darkened houses . He whispered in my ear insinuating all the horrid events that were going on in them in secret . I was so disgusted and nauseated by the words in the book that they seemed to be physically in my own mouth like gobbets of his decaying flesh which I gagged on ,coughed up .and spat out , when I awoke I could not get rid of their bitter taste .
