      Increasing dream recall tips?

      Hello~
I have been interested in dreams but I don't recall them. Do you have any ideas to start increasing them and also, does recording me saying "I will remember my dreams" then listening to it with head phones as I sleep as effective or good enough. I am able to remember past dreams from when I was younger and recently last month.

Writing a dream journal is one of the easiest ways for improving dream recall. Even if you don't remember anything, just write down how you felt when you went to sleep, how you felt when you woke up. Then after that you'll probably start remember little parts of dreams or even just some signs, but write those all down, no matter how unimportant it seems.

Then the other thing which can help is that when you go to sleep, keep telling yourself (and BELIEVING it) that you'll remember your dreams It's similar to your recording idea, but personally i tried that and the recording didn't seem to work... but you can give it a try if you want.

If you believe that you'll remember your dreams more and tell that to yourself daily, then write a dream journal with even the smallest things mentioned, it'll surely improve your recall

All the people that i gave tips to for dream recall started to be better at it in a week or so already

Writing a dream journal when you wake up, mull what you remember over in your head as soon as you wake up. Do both of those every day and it just gets better from there, a surprisingly easy skill to train once you can remember afew.

What if you can't even remember 1 second of your dream, even after waking straight up?

In addition to what littlezoe said, if I can't remember anything, I'll leave my room and walk around my house, trying to remember what I dreamed about. Most of my dreams take place in my house or school, so if I can't remember the dream by just laying in bed and thinking, looking around helps me. My memory has been jarred by standing in my kitchen, putting on a seat belt, and touching my ear. Strange minor things you wouldn't expect.

Don't rely on this method. littlezoe's method is much better for long-term improvement. However, if you wake up one morning and can't remember a thing, it might be worth a shot to just look/wander around.
