I had a dream where I thought I was dreaming so I decided to examine anything I could see very carefully to see if anything was out of place. I totally tricked myself.
Then I listened very carefullly to a song and all the words were correct and nothing was offbeat or anything. It never ceases to amaze me how unvellievably realistic dreams can be :!:

Yes, this is a very effective reality check, however, like you said, your lucid mind plays tricks on you. You might be examining things and notice a purple frog. You examine it and your brain decides, it is such a beautiful and perfect frog and totally normal.
I have been foold scores of times as have most members here. :(
Yeah its happened to me also.I usually wake up laughing real hard because I couldn't believe that I was un-able to notice stuff like that.
Like in 1 dream the sun kept changing colors and rising and setting every minute or so, and I just thought "hey, thats kinda cool" and left it at that.

my mind keeps playing tricks on me too like one time I tried a RC in a dream and I looked at my reminderband( that I have on 24/7 by the way :wink: ) and my reminderband words were glowing with a bright white light!!! a very clear indicator that im dreaming and I thought it was cool and normal and went about my dream...I also hate false awakenings
