1) When I wake up I can remember about 3 dreams, which is (I think) normally good, but the problem is that I only remember about 1 or 2 seconds, except for when I wake up during a dream, then I still remember only around 5 seconds, is this how much I’m supposed to remember? [/b]
It's normal to remember your dreams better when you wake up during (or immediately after) the dream. If you go back to sleep, it will usually tend to erase your dream memories. The best thing to do is write down as much of your dream as you can remember as soon as you wake up. You'll probably find that as you start writing, you will start to remember more details.
I'm not sure if you're saying that you only remember a few seconds of the dream, or if you're saying that you only remember the dream for a few seconds before forgetting.
If it's the first -- well, you just need to work on it. When I am really practicing my recall, I can usually recall at least a few minutes worth of my dreams.
If it's the second, then you need to write those dreams down before you forget them!

2) I heard there are audio tapes that help in dream recall, is this true?
Sorry, I've never tried any of these. I imagine that hypnotic suggestions could be helpful -- after all, that basically what you're doing with MILD anyway.

3) I know that at the start you should try to wake up during/immediately after your REM period, but do I have to continue doing this when lucid dreaming? Or is this just an exercise to increase recall?
That's mainly to increase your recall. But remember that your best chances of having a lucid dream come after you have gotten 4-6 hours of sleep. After that, you've gotten most of your "deep" sleep out of the way for the night, and from that point on your REM sleep periods will be longer -- therefore longer, more vivid dreams, and better chances of becoming lucid.
