      2 questions!

      Straight to my quesions!
      1. Im having trouble knowing where or how my dreams start when im going to write them down in the morning. is this a common problem?? My DJ looks pretty weird because of this, there are arrows and circles on every page. often i only remember pieces and got to fit them together...
      2. can you people remember several dreams in the morning? if so, how do you know its not the same dream, except that you have forgotten a piece of the dream? im having troubles of knowing how many dreams ive had each night... Or do I have to wake up after every dream to remember them all?

Just write down the first thing you remember in the morning. It isn't as important that your DJ is comprehendable as it is that it sparks the memories you have of that dream. You don't even have to write down the whole dream if a key word or phrase will help you to fully recall the dream. Just keep writing however you find is most comfortable and helps you to remeber your dreams the most.

For your second question, yeah, it is hard to remember an entire dream, so it's entirely possible that if you recall multiple dreams that they were all connected once. But recall is rarely 100%, so remembering all you can and writing it down will suffice, whether or not you remember the whole dream. Also, recalling dreams from previous REM cycles without waking up between them is possible, but it's not as easy to recall such dreams. Waking up between REM cycles will aid recall, but it's up to you whether the recall boost is worth it or not.

Longest: No. Dream signs are to be found in your dreams. They will signal to you that you are dreaming, at which point you are lucid and can take control.

      Boof:
      1. Sometimes, I too forget what happens at the beginning of a dream, but usually I notice "Hey this scenery is brand new, must be the start of a dream". This usually does not make me lucid. That's how I know the start of the dream. Often I will remember the middle or end of the dream, and have to remember chunks of the dream. It's best to lay in place for 10-15 minutes recreating and organizing the dream. It helps if you are actually doing something in a logical order. If I have a dream where I run around exploring, it's tough to know exactly what order everything went in, unless I was lucid.

Also, I type up my dreams on the computer, and I often re-read through them and make several revisions as I remember things.

      2. I have remembered up to as many as 8 per night, but usually it's only two or three. It is proportional to how long you sleep. Also, it's easiest to remember them for me when I wake up several times during the night, so I can recall them after shorter periods of time (don't have to think so far back).

The rule of thumb I go by is scenary and characters. If the landscape changes, most likely you are dreaming. However, like in my dream last night, it is possible to cut back and forth between two scenes taking place in one dream. Sometimes I have continuing theme, such as continuously running, in three dreams out of four. But considering one was down a farm road in between restaraunts, one in a grocery store, and one in a hospital where a VIP was staying, I could tell they were disjoint. Finally, when I have several dreams while asleep (without waking in between) I think they are all connected into one big dream. It is also possible to continue dreams across temporary spans of being awake.

One last suggestion: Quite often (like this morning) I wake up and get mad I cannot recall a dream from the previous night. I lay in the same spot I woke up, and usually within five minutes I can recollect a DC, or the dreamscape, or what I was doing in the dream. I have to build from there. Getting the first clue is a lot of the battle.
