Nope, you're not alone.. this has happened to me as well. :P
These false awakenings are twice as bad because when I finally do wake up, I can't recall nearly as much of the dream as I would have had I'd really written it down the first time..
yeah when i looked at my DJ i was worried that i would forget what i "supposedly" wrote down. no worries though because as i was recalling my latest dream i recalled a few of my previous dreams including the ones before the FAs. guess i got lucky.
this has happened to me maybe 5 recently
Hi,
I managed to write in my DJ last night without even opening my eyes. Can't read a word of it though :D
I'm gettting too old for this. :shakehead2:

One of the most frustrating things I've found about writing down my dreams is that the next morning when I try to read what I wrote.. there's always some of it that's illegible! :P
When I wake up from a dream, I keep my eyes closed which helps with my recall but that means that I am writing down my dreams with my eyes closed.. this results in my writing at a slant, off the page or writing lines stacked on top of each other. :?
I've tried marking my place with my left thumb on the side of the page while writing with my right hand but that still leaves much to be desired.
I've thought about turning on a small light but my memory is really crappy so it's better for me to write all that I can with my eyes closed first (plus it's dark and I don't want to disturb my husband by turning on the light).
I also tried one of those light pens but it seems that any type of light scares my dream recall away. :)
I do re-read my journal when I get up for the day and rewrite it filling in any blanks but that would be easier to do if it was all legible.
I thought about getting notebook paper whose lines are raised. I did an internet search as I wasn't sure such a thing existed and I found that it does! There is writing paper with slightly raised lines that provides tactile as well as visual feedback for people who have difficulty (for whatever reason) staying between the lines.
Here's a website [b] http://www.independentliving.com/products....t=200&deptname= that carry this type of paper but I'd like to find it cheaper locally.
Has anyone else tried using raised paper or know of a store that carries it?
I'm getting worse, now I can't remember any of my dreams. I haven't written anything in my DJ for three days yet I know i have been dreaming.
I think I must be trying too hard. Also it is extremely hot here 40+C 8) and I think it is clouding my mind. Maybe I should just relax about it and wait for the cooler weather. :?:
try setting an alarm to wake u up a couple hours after sleep. you might remember all your next dreams
I wake up many times during the night, usually straight after a dream, which is why I know i have been dreaming, but they immediately go from my mind. Its very frustrating as I used to remember virtually all my dreams years ago.
Anyway I managed to write one down last night :D
got to keep trying!!
Its can be really frustrating when you write in your dream journal and then realise when you wake up you were actually in a dream.
I’ve had some excellent dreams before, wrote them down and when I checked the journal with excitement the page was completely empty and void of meaning.
Maybe it’s a good idea to perform a reality check each time you write in your journal so as to make sure your not dreaming?
Ya know.. that's probably not a bad idea! :)Quote:
