Never EVER stop writing in jour dream journal!

It's a while ago I read about lucid dreaming and got interested(2 years ago?). When I just heard about LD'ing, I was realy enthusiastic about it. I was sceptical, back then I wasn't into spirituality (I am now). Luckily, the first day after 'discovering' LD'ing, I remembered my dream (which I almost never did), that motivated me and I started believing in LD'ing. I kept a DJ, I used to write every little detail I remembered, even if I woke up at 3 'o clock at night. My dream recall improved and improved, I had a lot of low-level lucid dreams and 1 real LD (very short though). That wasn't enough for me, I wanted to have an LD every night (who doesn't?), and I read that a few people took a 'break', stopped thinking about lucid dreaming. After a non-lucid-week they would start all over again. Suddenly, they had an LD (they said it had to do with "wanting too much" etc.). I thought, "hey, i'm kind of obsessed with wanting to dream lucid, if I take a break, my dream recall might get better and I can finally have a (long) Lucid Dream. I planned not to write in my DJ for a week. Nothing happened during the week. But... I got lazy, and after that week I didn't want to write in DJ anymore. If I would wake up in the middle of the night, I'd go back to sleep. Even if I remembered whole dreams (or just a scene), I still wouldn't write it in my DJ. Till now (6 month further), I still do not write in my DJ. My dream recall, which was quite good, is getting worser. I don't remember whole dreams anymore. Darn, why did I stop writing in my DJ? I used to enjoy writing in my DJ. Lucid dreaming was one of my biggest hobbies, even though I didn't control it well. Now it's just a "subject".

Anyway, just saying; dream journals are very very very handy and especially effective!

Well, I gues I have to motivate myself to LD again (and to write in my DJ!!).

Yah i sometimes find it *annoying* to have to write in my Dream Journal at 3am in the morning, but its all about motiviation...The more you do it the better you get it..

but you starting all over might help you out better..cuz now you have experience with LDing and DJing and stuff, but since you are coming back to it, it may seem alot easier to LD
LD Count: 300 since 2005, average 40 LDs a yr
      Last LD: 11/23/2013

well, I actually just began an interest in LD'ing a little more than a week ago, and have been trying to remember my dreams, and write anything I can in my DJ every day. But, being only a week into my LD conquest, I have yet to have a vivid, exciting dream. Just all boring stuff, and in fragments! But whenever I get lazy, I will remember your post Light

I will start a new DJ; motivated or not, I still want to dream lucid. And so I will . Now the holidays have started, I remember my dreams a bit better.

True, I've read a lot about ld'ing, dreams signs, dream recalls etc., I have used (successful) reality checks before. My \"2nd try\" should go easier I guess.

I forgot to say that only my first time I tried to remember I remembered my dream. However, the 2nd time (and so on) I only remembered fragments (but I didn't care, cause I KNEW that I could remember my dreams, while before I thought I couldn't remember my dreams) . My dream recall improved every day, it's not that I first barely could remember dreams and the next day I remembered whole (or even multiple) dreams. No, it was a process of months. Anyway, keep on with lucid dreaming. My first dreams were boring or just "not interesting", but I wrote it all down and while I was writing in my DJ, I recalled new things etc. .

cool light, it sounds like I am on the right track, because I definitely write in my DJ. And last night, I finally had a really long, and vivid dream, I may of even had two dreams. Well anyways, I could remember every detail of them, and wrote them down in my DJ. I'm so excited that I could finally remember a whole dream.

Good to hear , don't be demotivated if you don't remember your dream the next day (or the day after tommorow etc.) .

Agreed fully with that post there...I've been keeping a DJ on and off for about 13 years now...(I'm younger than that may lead one to believe)...ONly consistently for aboout the last 3 years though.

In the past, when I would lapse from documenting my dreams (The longest I would go WITH recording would be well under 3-4 months :/ ) I recall would go out the window.

Years later I can remember my dreams every day....

The only part I've to work on is now being able to notice my dream signs...which I've been doing more and more of most recently.

So you remembered that you HAD a dream. That is the first step, a lot of people believe that they do not dream at all .
