Exclamation Dream Recall Going Down Hill

From The past week, My Dream Recall has been absolutely horrible. My dream re-call was always pretty decent, it just got me by. But now its so bad, so bad that I can only remember 1 thing per night. Last night, my dream was about me on a Island.. Thats all I remember... Same thing with the night before, I went to a concert with my dad, and my cousins were their. All I remember... Don't remember any conversations, or anything! I have been doing the same things I have been doing for a while.. Reality checks, dream journal, questioning my surroundings... But, its almost seems that it is wearing off... Any ideas?

Im new to this all, but i been experimenting and researching dream recall. For the beginning I barely remember 1 dream in 1 month. When i found out about LD, and started to try it, my dreams were like, 2-3 vivid dreams in one week. When I started to write Dream Journal, once i got 4 vivid dreams in row(1 each night).
But now it somehow stopped. This night I knew i was dreaming, but just couldn't remember what it was.

Also i noticed that i never remember more than 1 dream, never. I don't know why but i just can't.

When you wake up in the morning, stay still. Try and go back and remember the dream you awoke from, going back through it in reverse order to pick up details and stuff, that kind of thing helps me.

Have something changed in your life recently, especially sleeping schedule-wise? Is so, that may be the case, but it also can be random recall drop, sometimes recall can be just like that, and either way, it surely will be back to normal eventually, think positive! What RDM said can help, also you can try using mantra when falling asleep, like "After each dream i wake up and remember it". Also another way that can help increase recall is general memory practice, try recalling what happened through the day before going to sleep. If you were only DJing as your primary recall, then that is normally pretty up and down. Especially if you don't have a consistent schedule. Go to the dream recall compendium that scionox
Linked, or "how to DJ" in my signature for some more recall tips.

Oh OK this night i noticed one important thing. I tried to remember the dream right away in bed , but couldn't. I woke up and walked a bit, still nothing.I even didn't write anything in DJ. But the I decided, oh well , maybe writing that i didn't remember and i felt like i remember, will help me *?*. As I started writing, that i felt like i was dreaming, suddenly i remembered the whole dream I had( only 1 ).

It just made my day, because i thought that i again didn't remember anything.

But here's one more thing. The dreams you were seeing in your sleep, kind of are in your memory. Try to look around look at every little detail, look at different places and just don't think anything. If any one the details will associate with the dream and you will remember it.

E.g yesterday i knew i was dreaming , but couldn't remember. When i was sitting in my chair , at PC, i looked out of window , and i felt a feeling like i remember something , but still couldn't.
Today , i just sat there , and was reading the yesterday's DJ (it was written that i don't remember anything, but I looked out of window and remember that it was associated with it.) Then I started to write the today feeling, and remembered the balcony window(the same I wrote yesterday), so suddenly i remembered it, because i was sitting near it in dream.

I'll try this method more, and see how it goes.

Actually Yes, I have been going to bed a lot later than what I am used to (1:30a.m) and I have been waking up at around 11:30. I need to get my schedule back together... This is probably my issue! thx!

Interesting, today I remembered 2 pretty vivid dreams.
      I don't know if this is a coincidence,but here what i did.
1)When getting to bed, i tried to remember the day in details everything , from morning to evening. I was surprised how much i remember. I went through the day , but I think I fell asleep when I got to about 1:00PM.

So first i got a cool dream, it wasn't long and it was pointless , but it was there anyways.

But the second dream which was after the first one, was creepy. Basically I was in darkness, and i heard a girl (telepathically ?) calling out all Russian Christians(????). I saw like snaps(like i immediately saw other people, but i wasn't there) and i saw that some people hear it , and were confused. At one point i even saw her face, but it wasn't clear.
Then i woke up, and my body was numb(but it wasn't SP). I immediately thought of WILD, but i was too creeped out to do it, as i could get hallucinations.

So it's pretty cool , i never remembered two vivid dreams , i think I'm starting to get some progress here. It's cool because even thing like this motivates to attempt more and more LDs.

EDIT: Actually I just remember that i had one dream before all the dreams above. It was vivid , but it wasn't long.

So 3 dreams in one night

Also I was for a walk around a lake in my town, this morning, i tried ADA , i was surprised how much things i have been missing out without looking so detailed on things. Let's see how it goes this night.

My recall is pretty cruddy right now--I've been on a downward spike, ironically, ever since I started *trying* to remember my dreams! But, I did notice twice now, when I've been practicing meditation/visualization during the day, I suddenly remembered a dream. I can't say definitively it's the meditation that caused me to remember, and not just one of those random things, but maybe try that at a few points during the day? I know I intend to practice visualization at least two or three times a day outside bedtime and naptime.

Guys I'm so excited I 3rd day in row remembered 2 dreams in one night (the first day i actually remembered 3 dreams). I don't know why is this, but here what i do :
During the day , i always look around to examine the environment, basically All day awareness i think.
Then also during the day, i sometimes perform RC, first in my head in a bit excitement i say : I am Dreaming ! Then i count my fingers, try to put my index finger through my palm, and finally i do the nose plug breathing RC. Then i look around a bit.
Also before bed, i experiment with mantras ( you gotta think of your own mantra , so it got more meaning , not just words.)

      Also I write dream journal.

I don't know if this is just a period when i got dream recall rocket boosted, or I'm progressing actually.

      P.S:
Yesterday and today's dreams were so vivid. I feel like i need a little push to try RC, but I can't for now.
Also today i got a dream , where my vision was so beautiful, like outside was with a bit of bloom and the colors were a bit let say more realistic (also the environment it self near my house.) Also I noticed that the Sunrise was on the opposite side of pole where it should be,and the lighting was precisely where it should be if the sun were on west side.

So have you any luck on reborning your DR ?

OK sorry for double post , but what can I do ...

So I did it again 2 dreams in one night. True first one wasn't long, but it still counts.
Basically I'm trying out new technique. Basically throughout the day, you must remind yourself :*does RC* "Remeber to reality check in dream!" Or : "Remember you must remember the dream/s !" Also you should think of your own sentence so it's something from you, not just sentence. Basically my idea was that it would somehow touch your subconsciousness and you will remember the dreams better.

I think it's important to stay motivated and excited about recall, and to *know* that you can do it. I now write in my DJ every night before bed as part of my pre-bed ritual:
      I will remember my dreams
I will awake after dreams to record them
I will have interesting and meaningful dreams
In my dreams I will remember to recognize that I'm dreaming

I also switched to using a voice recorder, and it made a huge difference: more recall recorded faster allowing more detailed recording instead of just keywords, you can keep your eyes closed, you can stay in your awakening position as long as you can reach the recorder, you don't turn on a light, etc. The first night I used it for the entire night (last night) I recorded 17 dreams / fragments (most with a short paragraph of detail!) over 4 awakenings.

It's important to stay in bed, not moving, relaxing, and first thing ask yourself "What was I dreaming about?" Just wait and the images will come. I had a super awesome flying dream 2 nights ago, almost lucid, and I didn't recall it at all immediately as really exciting dreams usually do right upon awakening, I even thought I didn't have any recall at first for that awakening. After 10-15 seconds of relaxing, staying calm, asking the question, it hit me, BOOM, and I wrote out 4 pages in my journal about it (sacrificing other dreams I only barely recalled but this was way more important!). It made me somewhat depressed to think how many super amazing exciting dreams must have gone down the toilet over the years.

I don't know what is this , but week ago my dream recall gained it's height (4 long dreams in night i wrote 1000 word paragraph in DJ), and now i don't recall anything at all It's like so boring every night now, i don't even know what influenced it so much.

Make sure you're getting enough sleep. With all the WBTB and the fact that I have trouble falling asleep if I become too awake/aware, I'm at a slight sleep deficit I think. Also, make sure to not move after waking up, remain calm, ask yourself "What was I dreaming about?" Don't work too hard, I woke up the other day without any immediate recall thinking "oh darn didn't remember anything" then if all came flooding back, including my awesome flying dream! Give yourself a day off or two, it'll come right back. Make sure your motivation and excitement is high, and set your intention before bed to remember your dreams (and to wake up after your dreams to record them).
