Wild attempts help recall even if you don't go lucid

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but even if I don't go lucid, waking up in the middle of the night and going back to sleep greatly improves my dream recall. The only lucid dreams I've had are from RC's or DILDs but I remember my dreams much more vividly if I just set an alarm and wake up for just a few minutes about 4 hours into my sleep.

ive had some incredible wilds even tho all i did was get up and go to the bathroom. Typically the longer you stay awake, the better the chances. This leads me to believe its how aware you are when you are awake rather than how long you are awake. It is probably the case that most people become more aware the longer they stay awake, thereby creating better chances for lucidity and awareness.

I read somewhere that WBTB can help you get out of the deep sleep phase, and then when you get back to sleep, your sleep will be lighter and there will be more intense dreams. Ha, gotta love that technique...
