      hey guys,

I was wondering what is the best way to recall dreams; Writing, typing or speaking? Which technique shows to best results or is there no difference between the 3?

Everytime you think about your dreams, about how much you like having them and remembering them, it reinforces this idea. So it doesn't really matter which way you dream journal. It's up to you, whether you find typing, handwriting or voice recording most comfortable for you.

You can check out our dream journal system.

And how to remember your dreams:

      1. start writing every fragment, every little detail in your DJ
      2. when you wake up, stay still and try to think back at your dream
      3. as falling asleep, use mantra "I remember my dreams" or "I wake up after every dream and remember it"

More about recall and dream journals in this section, where I'm moving this thread.

I usually type my dreams out of convenience rather than anything else. It facilitates later browsing and analysis. However, one thing I find really good for dream recall is to go over the dream a few times in my head after waking up. This really helps solidify dreaming memory and also allows me to journal whenever I have the time. I would still write down a few keywords usually on a piece of paper to help up with later recall and journalling.

Feel free to experiment and find out what works best for you.

Writing is indeed better than typing, because it involves higher cognitive skills. There's actually many advantages to writting over typing in terms of memory, language development/comprehension, but there's one thing that stick above all those:

      - What's the best way to record the biggest amount of details from a dream? Because you know, that's all it matters. Some people love to type, others to write, and some (like me) still use a voice recorder. It may sound ironic, but the thing that makes you recall more dreams, it's just....wanting to recall dreams. Once your brain becomes hard-wired (an ongoing process naturally) to perform dream recall as an automatic habit, then it won't matter how you are recording your dreams. Your way is the best way

Like everyone else said, i'd say which one is better depends on whether you like to type, write or voice record more, i personally use typing because my writing is horrible and i don't like writing anyways. Also hey Zoth, long time no see!
