Need some advice on recall

Hey guys,
My dream recall seems to have been terrible lately and I've been trying ways to improve it. I usually set an alarm to wake me up around 4-4.5 hours after falling asleep, but I find that when I do wake up I just don't feel like writing my dream down. On many occasions I just seem to look at my alarm clock and then fall back to sleep. I've also realised that the dreams I do remember have been very short and boring.
I seem to always have a problem when it comes to waking up a certain time after sleeping. Any tips or advice on overcoming this?

I'm new to DV but still, I think I could shed some light on your dream recall troubles. Because I have decent dream recall ability -- I can recall and write down details of about 3-4 different dreams per night.

Currently, I'm using my iPhone as my primary device for dream journaling. Before this, I used pen and paper and I found it hard to motivate myself to jot down stuff in a notebook in the middle of the night. So that's why I switched.

In one night of sleep, I'll wake up multiple times. And in between each sleeping session, I make sure I stay up for 10-15 minutes (during which I document the details of my dream) before going back to sleep again. If I trouble staying up, I play songs in the background on my iPhone while I type up my dreams.

Can I ask what you're using to record your dreams on at the moment?

I use my phone to write my dreams.

I remembered one dream upon waking today and I had woken up during the night but couldn't make myself remember to write down the dream.
