      Dream recall question

I was wondering two things, 1) do most of you recall one or more dreams every night and 2) how long did it take to get like this. I'm just starting djing and my dream recall is horrible lately

Yes, I can recall more than one dream per night. It varies sometimes but I'd say my average recall per night is around 3-4. And if it varies it usually varies in the higher direction rather than lower, although I still sometimes do have days where I won't remember anything but a fragment. Now to give you a base for comparison, I've been practicing and DJing for around a year somewhat avidly, I have my spurts of inspiration and also my moments of doubt. In the very beginning when I first started DJing, my recall was horrible, but I just kept on through it with that one desire to have a lucid dream and to get better. In time, I kept recalling more and more each night, I've even recalled around twenty dreams before, given, that wasn't my greatest night of sleep which led to shorter more frequent dreams, but still.. Anyways, all I can say really is never have self-doubt it's a cancer. If you believe in yourself and believe in what you're doing, you'll have great results. And if you never give up, you will succeed, and there's nothing like the joy experienced after that first lucid dream. Good luck, and never stop trying.

Thanks!! Recently I haven't been remembering dreams at all, but yesterday I was thinking about remembering dreams alot and last night I set intentions to wake up after each dream and remember it. I woke up about 4 times lay night and got 2 dreams and like 6 fragments!

Also should I practice just recall for a while ignoring lucidity, although I want to get lucid as soon as possible

Yea that's a good idea first, how I treated it was, if I was remembering dreams I was doing well. And if I had a lucid dream, that was just a bonus. It's a great way to look at it, so that you don't feel bad when you're not having lucids as soon as you'd like.

Enjoy sleeping so that you don't get frustrated without dreams.
Enjoy dreams so that you don't get frustrated without lucidity.
Enjoy short LDs so that you don't get frustrated without stability.
Enjoy the dream world so that you don't get frustrated without remembering your goals and just wandering around the dreamscape.
Enjoy Lucids and don't ever get frustrated.

Getting frustrated can kill all parts of dreaming. Good luck. start with trying to get lots of dreams, easiest way is a consistent sleep schedule and natural WBTBs.

Ya I usually try to keep positive vibes and not get frustrated in life in general. Meditation helps so much. Also I usually set intentions to wake up after dreams and the last few nights I wake up at like 3 remembering nothing. Then at 320 and remember a fragment then at 4 with a whole dream. Its a very consistant pattern is this normal?

a consistent pattern would be just the time you lay down at first and get up last. So for me it is 1030-645ish.

I recall multiple dreams each night. Before I started practise, I would remember the vague outline of one dream every couple of days. It only took about a week of daily dedicated practise before I noticed that my recall had almost doubled. My technique is -

#1 As soon as you become aware that you are awake, don't open your eyes or move. Run through every aspect of the dreams i.e. thoughts, sensations and feelings in as much detail as you can even if it's not much.
#2 Immediately commit any and all detail you can to your journal.
#3 Before sleeping, review the journal and try to recall past dreams in your memory in as much detail as you can.

If you practise this every day for a week and don't get any results, come and find me

While lucid I try to make it a conscious thought to retain vivid details and main points of the dream, these can be keys to remembering other fragments. Personally i don't keep a dream journal but as i realize i'm waking up i focus on every aspect i can remember and replay them all in my mind repedetively. Usually if I retain the last image i seen pictured when i come out of a dream it starts to reform itself or i'm taken into another one. The vital thing that helps me R.E.M ember is to stay calm and keep my attention off the real world and my intent and desire on storing the plot, events, and important happenings.
