No clear dream signs - at all

Hi dreamviews, I've been wondering on this for a little while but I just can't get over it. So far I have written so many dream journal entries that I could not possibly keep count, yet I have never ever noticed one clear dream sign amongst them. I have noticed temporary ones at best - I remember a period when I'd dream a lot about games, examples being playing Starcraft 2 or playing in an MMO myself. Aside from this, I haven't been able to find the slightest correlation between my dreams over the past year or so. Do any of you have this "problem" as well? I know figuring out dream signs is a pretty big thing but in the 3 years that I've been practicing lucid dreaming, I've never really used dream signs or never sort of bothered with them.

So the question is, is anyone out there who hasn't figured out dream signs or uses them?

      Thanks in advance!

I am one of those people that have no apparent dream signs. You might have to try an alternative method check is reality checking. Have you tried this method yet?

Lucid dreaming takes three things: Patience, practice, and perseverance.

I'm in a similar situation. The only dream sign I have is the inability to punch anything, which, given my calm temperament, rarely shows up. You might want to focus on WILD, which doesn't require dream signs.

Not all dream signs have to reflect the difference between the real world and dream world. Some items can appear in both worlds, while others will be exclusive to the dream world. Perhaps organizing dream contents into categories might help.

      - who are the DCs? Are they people from your past, present, unknown entities. Even people from your present can be considered DS, depending on dream contents.
      - where do dreams take place
      - what is going on
      - what are the emotions you feel
      - what are the objects of interest
      - any strange items
      - presence of animals that you don't usually meet
      - weird weather phenomena
      - superpowers

So, DS can range from something very ordinary to something extraordinary. Try tagging your journal entries and some patterns will eventually emerge. Be sure to RC whenever you see your DS in waking life or imagine doing an RC while visualizing a unique dream related DS. Good luck!

How do you mean exactly? I've done reality checks waaaay back but they didn't really get me any apparent dream signs.

Funnily enough, WILDs do not work for me. At all. In three years I have never gotten close to a succesful WILD.

Dream signs are only one of many opportunities for a RC. I do have dream signs, but I don't RC on them.

You don't have to limit yourself when and how and why you do RC. It is best to use all possible reasons to better your chance that some of them will work.

      1. Use an activity reminder - something you do often. RC every time you:
      - walk through doors
      - use the restroom
      - notice a specific color
      - get a phone call
      - get a drink
      - and anything else you can think of

      2. Use a physical reminder - audio or visual
      - set your watch to beep every hour
      - set your timer
      - put some sticky notes all over your place, school books, laptop, door frame, wall above you bed, first thing you see in the morning
      - put a rubber band or bracelet on your wrist
      - and whatever else you can

All these are just to help you get into habit of RCing. Pretty soon you will find that you will start RCing even without them. And that's the best way to do it. Spontaneously. Whenever the feeling "OMG, what if this is a dream" strikes you.

      3. Dream signs - anything that occurs often in your dreams AND in your waking life.
You RC on these in WL every time you see it, think about it or say it out loud. Then, when they show up in your dream, you are likely to RC there as well.

Side note: Sometimes you get a dream sign that is not so common in your waking life. For example, a school you used to go to years ago, friends that moved away, deceased family members, or even things from movies, like dragons, actors, or anything similar.

Obviously, if you don't see these in waking life, you can't RC on them. But, not all is lost. You can RC on photographs, even on pictures you draw or find on the internet. Also, every time when you think of the person/item/place, you can say it out loud and imagine how it looks.

      4. When you notice something strange. It can be strange for real or you just pretend it is. Let's face it, our lives are not that strange, so we have to make up some stuff.
      - a classmate shows up when you know he is at home sick
      - you thought you still had some beer in your fridge but it's all gone
      - it's lunch time, you should be hungry, but you are not
      - boy/girl that has been ignoring you is suddenly talking to you
      - you see or hear anything and you think to yourself "that's strange"

      5. At random
-every time you get the sinking/exciting/freaky/exhilarating feeling in your stomach, that what if this was a dream and you didn't notice
