Question Creating my own dream sign? Could this work?

I have dreams about people from my school, but never one constitent person. I'm struggling to practice RCs because I don't know what to check reality for (my life's really anticlimactic).

I decided to create my own dream sign. I keep a full glass of water with me when I get the chance. It'll usually be in the corner of my eye where I'd always see it and when I didn't, if I happened to turn around and see it, I would ask myself if I was dreaming and do a reality check.

I've tried expanding on this by asking if I'm dreaming and then taking a gulp of water. I'd like to think that if I did this in my dreams, I'd get lucid. It's a theory which I hope works. I've been doing so for 3 days now. Still no lucid dream but I'm trying.

I consistently keep the glass of water on my mind, even using it for my meditation.

Will this work? I highly believe it will. I'm still in school, and I exactly have time to do a RC out of thin air without looking crazy, so keeping the glass of water on my mind and seeking out for my teacher's glass of water is a plus.

This seems like an excellent idea, I think, especially because it (that glass of water image) is not only a clever manufactured dreamsign (and RC device), it is also giving you a focus point for your attention, which might help get your mind in the right place for LD'ing in general.

I have a feeling this process you've come up with might eventually work for you; good luck! ... Oh, and yes, creating your own dreamsigns can work!

I do hope so, thank you!

Unfortunately, my brain is catching on to the idea and I know I had a dream, it's just I can't remember them. I saw another thread that said to write down what I did the entire day at night to clear my old memories for new ones, so I'll get on to that.
