      Stress vs. Recall

For the last 3 weeks I was under a lot of stress because I had exams and I had to study. The thing is during that period I lost my ability to recall my dreams, before that I could recall at least a dream per night. It all ended this thursday (exams and stuff) and amazingly my recall got back. I think that's something worth researching.

It's possible you just didn't sleep as well when you were under so much stress. Or, you remembered more dreams upon waking, but forgot them more quickly as your thoughts were replaced with those of exams and such.

I agree with your feelings about stress. People often do not realize how damaging stress can be. I recall my college days and studying for exams and stuff. Very stressful. But I am amazed at how, in the working world "real world?" that stress is often overlooked until you have a heart attack or stroke. Stress and it's effect on dream recall is worth studying.

Interesting, when I am under a lot of stree, I remember more dreams, however, they are more fragmented. I owe this to sleeping less soundly.

The downside though is, when in this mode, although i remember more dreams, I am lucid less
