      Unhappy No dREAm SiGnS

I have been keeping a dream journal since 8th november last year and there is nothing that seems to recur apart from my best friend being in a lot of my dreams. Even that hasn't been happening recently.

I don't know, I was just wondering if anyone could help.

Sometimes your dream sign can be something that can have many shapes. For example water can be as taking shower, river, lake, ocean, washing dishes and so on. Or Buildings can be as your house, store, school, work, etc.

It's interesting to find dream signs in our dreams for fun, or to use them as RC point. But they are not really necessary. Since even if we do have dream signs, they most likely don't show up in every dream. That's why it's best to do a reality check at random times.

Most important thing is your state of mind when you RC, not really what you are RCing on.

So at random times, whenever you remember to RC, stop what you doing and be amazed and surprized when you ask yourself "am I dreaming?" Believe that you could be dreaming. Look around, try to recall how you got there, do few of your RCs then set your intent to RC realize that you are dreaming next time you are dreaming.

You can ofcourse also RC on your dreamsigns. If your DS is your friend, RC everytime you see her in waking life. Or you can even RC on any person and tell yourself "this is my friend" and again set your intent to RC and realize you are dreaming next time you see her.

Yeah I agree with Gab, Dream signs can make becoming lucid easier, but they aren't totally necessary. If you can't find DS's then find another method to focus on for a while, see if your luck gets better.

You could think of dream signs as abstract as well, like how does a dream feel to you? How does your vision operate (for me, while usually "high definition", I get an impression of pixelization sometimes, like I'm looking through a HD video camera viewfinder)? Do you hear anything, are there any background sounds?

Dream signs can also be elements of how the dream is structured. You could look for sudden changes of scene, knowledge you have for unexplained reasons, false awakenings, and unstable settings.

You have just answered my question that I have been asking myself all day! I've been questioning myself about what do I do if I don't have the same sign that shows up!

      Thank you Gab!

That is cool. I just realised that the setting I was in is my dream sign and the fact the night went to day really quickly is a dream sign but my friend popping up everywhere for no reason. Well... That is kinda normal

Don't worry about it too much but keep a look out as everyone says ...not forgetting the imaginative ways things can pop up My dreams are very all over the place and changing places, people, emotions etc etc- I felt worried for a while when every time I thought I had a reacuring thing it just didn't show up again

But as long as I keep on developing my self awareness/memory And Lucid mindset gets more and more apart of who I am - the more Lucid's I experience. So it's ok ~ just keep on

      I love your avatar!

I use doorways and trees to do reality checks.
It can get tiring, but no matter where you are (unless you live in the desert or Antarctica) you will see doorways and trees.
I've found that just doing the dream signs can have an impact. I have used dream signs that never occurred in my dreams only to find that they suddenly do appear while dreaming.

My ex-wives are a couple of my dream signs. I never see them in WL, but they pop into my dreams quite of often. Zombies. Anyway, just before going to bed, i visualize them and tell myself that if i see them in a dream I know I'm dreaming. In other words, you can use a dream sign that you don't actually see during the day as long as you talk to your subconscious before you go to bed to let it know to keep an eye out.
