      Androgynous Dream Body

One of my major dream signs is my body. The only thing that gives me more lucids is flying. I'll look down and realize that this is not the body that I usually inhabit. It's very androgynous. I usually am wearing no clothes in this body and have no hair or private body parts. My skin isn't really skin either it almost looks like light, it kinda glows a yellowish white. This body is also taller than I am and has a larger, bulbous head. That was really noticable when I was a child. I've been dreaming in this body quite frequently all my life.

It's very hard to stay lucid in this dream body for some reason, and I can't conciously change it to a body more like my real body. Sometimes if I really am sick of it and want it to change it will, but that happens in dreams a lot. I've also gone lucid when I realized I had no body whatsoever, I'm just a perspective. That's probably a weirder feeling than the other body.

Does anyone else have a body related dream sign? Any ideas on what this could mean? It makes for a good dream sign, I just think it's a bit odd and no one I know has had any similar experience.

Well, I would say that you have reached a Stage in Dreaming that other people are still being pushed toward. You see, most people have dreams in which their Dream Body, a rough facsimilie to their Waking Body is somehow diseased or deformed, which I suppose is the Dream Mind's Way of reminding them to not identify so much with their Physical Body. You seem to be beyond that, no?

However, you may still have problems. Your Dream Body being so different from your Waking Body may show a great distance to go between any possible Integration there can be between your Waking Consciousness and your Dream Consciousness. It could result in your having a far richer Spiritual Life than anything your waking life could compare to.

Now, a great many dreamers are familiar with being only a Point of Perception within their dreams. Often people describe this in terms of having what they call 'Third Person' Dreams, where they do nothing in the sense of the first person 'I' or 'me'... not really 'third person' at all, now that I think about, but just not 'first person'.

Perhaps many people have dream bodies that vary greatly from their physical bodies, but are not aware of it since one seldom comes across mirrors in one's dreams. I remember once coming across a mirror in a dream... actually a large reflective glass door and was surprised to see that I was a young svelte woman. Who would have guessed. I felt like 'me' and did not stop to closely examine myself. Perhaps this is more common then is presently supposed.

Then, during Lucid Dreaming, it is common for the body to change simply because it is being observed. The other night when I looked at my hands, they disappeared and then reformed as these little webbed appendages with something of a luminous glow, but as I shifted my vision, they would go back again to being my hands. Perhaps your own body changes simply as you focus upon it. But, in either case, at least you don't have the worry of experiencing your body as diseased and deformed, which is often a source for anxieties.

Thanks for the response Leo I've spoken to people before who've had a perspective only dream. That's pretty common, I just threw it in there because it was body related. I'm glad I've never had a deformed/diseased body dream before, that would indeed cause me great anxiety. I think you're right about this body being part of my Dreaming/Sprititual Development. Even as a young child, it made me start thinking about who I was outside of this body and this life.
