      Amount

Before I start my LD, should I get my DR really really good? Liuke what I'm doing is every week adding to the number of dreams I tell myself to remember (Like autosuggestion or MILD, exept for DR) my dreams. My question is, is two or three dreams remembered per night a good time to start trying LD's? I don't want to miss anything.. And I'm waking up at 4:00- 3:30, because I can remember my dreams, and I tend to have more vivid dreams when I go back to bed- I think... Doesn't you waking up start you Dream Cycle again ?

Anyways, should I try to remember up to 6 or 7 before I try to have an LD, as they get more vivid, or is 3-3 good enough?

Oh, and I'm doing an RC every minute, so that it can cross over too the Dream world.. Pitiful I know..

Oh, and should I set my alarm too wake up after each dream period?

2-3 dreams a night is fine. Better then my DR And really, anytime is good to start to try to LD And not rememebring you had (lucid) dreams isn't bad, for you don't rememeber you had them.

6-7 = incredible amount of DR, in my opppinion. You would have to write like 2 hours every morning to record all your dreasm

But really, just start trying to LD! Just set your watch in the middle of the night, and try some WILD, DILD, HILD, whatever you are into at the moment. The exact timing of the alarm... it's different for everyone, try what works best!

      good luck!

Recalling 6-7 dreams a night is nothing short of incredible. 3 dreams a night to remember is fine and for the most part average. You are doing well if you remember that many. Go for the LD. Couldn't hurt, right?

I think that 2-3 is definitely enough, if you actually manage to keep it up. I personally think that if you can consistently remember most of one dream each morning, you are in a better condition to try to LD than if you sometimes remember multiple tidbits of dreams adn other times remember nothing. As long as you keep up the 2 to 3 dreams per night you are ready. I haven't remembered anything over the last nearly a week, as I haven't gotten my 8.5+ hours of sleep which I personally need to get recall of anything worth remembering, but I'm still trying to LD. Good recall helps though, it sucks when you know you had an LD, but have no clue what it was about.

I was gonna say pretty much the same thing PenguinLord said until I read his post. You would be better off to remember one really good one instead of small pieces of dreams all through the night. Either way couldn't hurt though.

Like people have said, go ahead and start trying to LD if you have any dream recall at all. My recall blows (about 1 a night, and usually not very long) and I have had 1 good LD (or I thought it was good for my first, probably 2-3 minutes) and one last night where I became lucid and woke up. That's in the month-month 1/2 I've been working at it (if you can call it working).

How could you cry for me?
Cause I don't feel bad about it.
      So shut your eyes,
      Kiss me goodbye,
      And sleep.
      Just sleep.

This week I started LDing again after a pause of nearly 2 months and my dream recall sucks right now (3 dreams in one week ) but still I managed to have two very low level LDs.
A good dream recall helps but it is not required and Lucid Dreams are also much easier to remember than normal dreams.

why is that? I've experience the exact same things. I would wake up around 5, and be really mad that i couldn't remember a sinlge dream. I would open my eyes, move around, and then go back to bed. And then i sleep for 20 minutes and wake up remembering a very vivid dream. I've had dreams in between hitting my snooze button too (very vivid ones)

That's because the longer you sleep the longer the rem phases get. In the morning after sleeping the whole night you have the most vivid dreams and the chances of getting lucid are higher.

      Very limited dream recall

If I just remember enough from a dream to write down a couple of sentences, is that considered 1 recalled dream? Or do you have to be clear about most of what happened?

I tend to have between 1 and 2 dream recalls per night, because I wake up at 4:30 or 5AM to try WBTB.
