How many dreams do you have per night?

How many dreams do you have per night?
      Try this:
      1. Calcualate the the exact date of 30+ days ago (e.g: today is April 15, thirty days ago was March 17).
      2. Go through your dream journal and count how many dreams you had since that date.
      3. Divide how many dreams you had by the total days

      Example:
I had 24 dreams over the past 30 days, therefore I have 0.8 dreams every night (avarage)

I suppose what you mean is "how many dreams do you recall per night"?
Because the number of REM periods varies in relation to how long you sleep but as long as you sleep for at least a few hours you're bound to have at least two.

Unfortunately currently I don't recall more than one dream a day on average and rarely 2 or 3 from the night.

Haha, love the sig Explode. Nice pic in it too. I wanna find more 'continuous gifs', they are sweet.

Without actually using the formula, I average about 1 a nite I'd say. But always depends on how much sleep I get. Weekends usually make up for the lack of dreams during the week.

I have averaged three to four dreams per night for close to two years now. Possibly always. Just the last two years I have been keeping them journaled.
However my LDs are very evasive. Up & down -Up & down. One month I may have three in one night several times and another month a may not have a SINGLE one! The unstabilty is baffling to me.
I hope to figure out the missing component.

Emh. Screw the maths. I recall 2-3 dreams a night now. But they are short and unclear.

      Recall

Although you DO remember them, do you still write them down?
Writing them down improves clarity even when you can recall portions of several dreams.

Using your math, I averaged out mine/month since I've joined.

      December - 1.2
      January - 2.2
      February - 2.6
      March - 2.8
      April(so far) - 2.6

      Nearly steadily improving.
      About what I expected.
Without the math I'd have guessed average 3 dreams/night.
Not too far off the mark.

((yes...i have surplus time on my hands tonight. actually enjoyed calculating the monthly averages ;p ))

I average 3.1 per night, usually a long one the short ones, usually only the long ones are lucid. Certain medication will make me dream 3rd party dreams instead of lucid ones, like the antidepressant I was given after my mother died. During this time, the dreams were like watching movies of other peoples lives. Perhaps because it was too pain to look at my own life at the time? Guess I'll never know for sure....

Hmm.. # of dreams per night? I don't think I ever have more than one unless you mean waking up in the middle of the night and then having a new dream. My dreams are usually a continuous story once per night, err at least I think they are.

Haven't been keeping my DJ that long but in the past week I have been keeping it I have been averaging 3-4 dreams per night and two LD's 8) (in total).
      I haven't failed
I've just found seven thousand three hundred and eighteen ways that don't work.

It seems like last night I probably had about 3-5 lucid experiences, some lasting maybe a second of just me standing in my room or laying on my bed. Sometimes, I don't know where one dream ends and another begins.

      yeah,

It's odd. Sometimes when I wake up I can't recall anything. But after an hour or so, a little thought will enter my mind, and I can put together almost all the dreams of that night together.

I can usually remember 3 dreams a night regularly.

      Re: yeah,

That's not odd. It happens to me too. I had a lucid one night that I didn't remember having until I was driving to work. Even lucid dreams aren't guaranteed to be remembered.

sometimes it seems like I am on a fringe of lucidity and have dozens of dreams, some only lasting a second.

I usually remember anywhere from 2 to 8 dreams a night. It depends on how much time I feel I can afford to spend being awake writing notes about the dreams while still getting as much sleep as I want to have. If I have a lot of time for sleeping, I can wake up several times in the middle of the night and recall quite a few dreams. If I don't feel I have enough time to be awake writing dream notes, my dream recall will be extremely low, and I often won't wake up at all in the middle of the night.

It depends how tired I am... If I'm not too tired I can remember two or three dreams, but not very good, mostly vaguely...

If I'm tired I can only remember one or sometimes even none...

Partying combining with lucid dreaming doesn't work for me... Think I'll stick to my dreamjournal for now and when I'll get older (and dont go out anymore) I'll hopefully will get lucidty while dreaming

Yesterday was my 2 month aniversary in being with DV .
      But I went dramatically down.
      First month: 0.81
      Second month: 0.57
My dreams in my second month were much longer than my dreams in my first month. You can see in my dream journal, that starting April 18-today that its much thicker than the rest. I don't know if its better or worse to have less longer dreams vs. more short dreams. I would think its better.

I used to have 4-7 each night, sometimes up to 10 on weekends... but lately I'm lucky to remember one at all.

75 dreams in the last 25 days, so on average, 3 dreams per night. It has been up a bit lately. It might actually be a little lower because I can remember having dreams, but not remember their content. Also, I notice January and February, possibly even March people have more dreams recalled. I don't know why though.

I usually have about 2-4 a night, 5 rarely. But lately I found a way to remember up to 7 dreams in one night 8). I used this to induce one of my 3 LDs...

BTW, I only write down LD's in my journal.
I have no pain, no sorrow, no sadness. But, alas, I too have no pleasure, no happiness, no joy. I live a life of no regrets.
