      every hour.

I have been trying this new technique. I set my watch to beep every hour. When it beeps- I do a reality check, to see if I am dreaming. The intended result is to here the beep in my sleep and I would then question if I am dreaming. It has yet to work. But I'll tell you one thing. It sure makes you realize how fast time is going by when you are aware of each hour passing.

If my watch were to beep ever hour I would wake up every hour... might not be a bad thing... Let us know how it works!

The thing is with the watch it is suppose to be quite enough not to wake you up. But at the same time your subconcious heres it. I guess it depends on how light of a sleeper you are.
I did lucid dream my first night trying it. However I was not aware of how I became Lucid. So I cannot factually contribute that method.

It worked for me for awhile. But now, subconciously, I don't hear it. Even when awake. It's very sad.

      Tic Toc Tic Toc

Now that you mention it. I noticed some time ago, that I do not realize when the clocks in my house chime anymore. I hope this does not overplay into this wacth test.

I've been doing the same technique for about 3 months now, after a while you stop hearing it... its pretty strange. And you end up depending on your watch for Reality checks, when for some reason the beeps are off, you think about it in the evening and thinkk "SHIT i didnt check anything the whole day.."

But something interesting i've noticed is that for about 4~5 times this week i've done a reality check without the watch beeping, and I read my digital watch for my checks, and everytime I did it was like, 3~4 minutes before my watch was supposesd to beep... so I'm not sure if it works or not...

some lucid dreaming you do can either extend or compress time. I've had some lucid dreams that were seemingly hours and hours long, but in real time only like 3 minutes went by. Also I've had lucid dreams that seem to be so short and like hours went by... time is an illusion generated by our fixation of our common societal perception.

      ditto

I'm the same way... I look at my wristwatch to see if i can make the second-hand stop, but not often enough. Of course, it did give me a fright the one time I looked and my watch had run out of batteries... i thought, for a fleeting moment, my A on my final exam had been a dream!

But, I found a clock in my dream last night, and I made the second hand stop and run backwards, so it wasn't completely in vain, i don't think.

      Lol

I used to use hourly rcs until my watch broke. My new watch doesn't have the function. Other rcs work quite well though.

about your subconscious not hearing the beeps i think its that you have built up a tolerance to the noise just like how people with loud clocks and cookoo clocks dont hear them any more because they have grown so used to hearing them that they dont notice them anymore
