      Every 90 Minutes?

I read on the Dream Views web site that you should wakeup every 90 minutes to write down your dream. Is it really necessary to do that? Couldn't I just practice dream recall by writing down what I can remember when I wakeup in the morning? It just seems like I will be really tired if I need to wakeup every 90 minutes because it might take a while before I can go back to sleep.

Another problem is that it is normally difficult for me to wakeup. Each morning, my alarm clock will beep for about 15 minutes before I wake up. I'm not sure why, but it usually wakes up everyone in my house before it wakes me up. It doesn't seem to matter how many hours of sleep I get. So, I don't think everyone else in my house would want me to set my alarm clock for every 90 minutes.

      Welcome to the forum, herme!

For some people, waking up that many times in one night just isn't practical (I don't do it either). Writing down my dreams in the morning seems to work for me. Sometimes if I wake up on my own in the middle of the night and remember a particulary cool or vivid dream, I'll jot down a few keyword notes on the notepad beside me bed, then go back to sleep. In the morning I'll be able to remember the dream from the notes and can write the whole dream down in my journal at my leisure.

Remember, everyone is different so while some techniques my work great for some, they may not work at all for others. The key is trying lots of different things and finding out what works best for you. Good luck!
