Thanks, imagefication, so I'll just take B6. It's cheaper anyways lol.
And jahwarrior, this is just an experiment. I will train my brain. But I've also never had a vivid dream in my life and I just want a few without any work before I train myself.
for anything in life, not just dreaming, you need work :)
nothing comes for free and nothing comes without training, is this vitamin so good that u can have vivid dreams without training ?
Yeah actually it is that good.
I told you already, I'm going to train, this is just to get a few vivid dreams. If they are as mind blowing as everyone says they are, well that would motivate me to train, right?
Mega, i noticed you haven't attempted WBTB , in my experience my most vivid dreams are after WBTB, try it out. But the only thing that consistently guarantees me intense vividness or lucidity is a long meditation in complete darkness before going to bed.
If I do like a 20 minute WBTB I can't fall back asleep. I always wake up at 5 oclock for about 1 minute though and fall back asleep (this is with an alarm).
Also I don't know how to meditate.
I have trouble falling back to sleep if I stay awake longer than 5 minutes or if I WBTB past 4 1/2 hours of sleeping. I just set an alarm for 4 hours and do a 5 minute meditation. Meditation is simple, theres lots of methods but I like to just sit in a dark room with my eyes closed and focus on counting my breaths. I also do one pointedness meditation, which is just staring at an object or spot. Most nights I do both methods for about 5 minutes each before bed and then when I WBTB I just do one method for 5 minutes. For me it really helps not to turn any lights on when I WBTB, I just meditate in darkness then go back to bed, turning on lights makes it hard for me to fall asleep again.
Ok I'll try that, thanks.
Also, I got the pills...... First I took a trip (with my bike) to best buy and got a watch battery and a 4 plug power bar (2 things I needed). Then, instead of going to Shoppers Drug Mart, I went to Wal-Mart, because it would be less suspicous if I came home with a Wal-Mart bag. So I wandered around forever, building up the courage to buy the pills (pathetic, isn't it?) and eventually I managed to get up the courage. I got 100 tablets of Jamieson 50 mg vitamin B6 pills. I hid them in my desk buried under unused school supplies... hopefully no one will find it.
The only problem is now... for the past 2 weeks my brother has been sleeping in my room, and for another week he will still be sleeping in my room, because my Grandmother from Israel is staying over. So.... I'll probably have to wait a while before I can use them.
But thanks to all.
I never knew it was a ?!
Re. Meditation:
There are a LOT of books about it in the library. Find one that you can understand, but look at more than one. There are so many techniques out there; some are common sense, some are religious, some are downright weird.
But the basic concept is to relax your muscles and let your mind drift... it's like daydreaming on a power trip. You can add imagery (an imagined scene) if you like.
Even if it doesn't help with your dreams, it's a great stress buster. And if you're in high school, as I'm assuming, then you're going to need one...
its... its a vitamin! its not a drug >_<
fine, next time she gets you to eat something "because it has vitamins", remind her of how she refused to let you take vitamin B6
I took 200 mg last night at 5 AM and I didn't even remember a dream.....
But I had a lucid at 3:10 AM which breaks my dryspell...
use your mind !
There is B6 in cereal.
probably in most fruits too.
although i think they use a chemical name like folic acid, they don't actually say B6.
Tell her its like a daily vitamin BUT it also has a cool affect on dreams, maybe you should ask her to try it out for herself.
Tell your mom the excact truth. When people do serious drugs, they say "It's like a super dream, it's so cool", maybe she got the same idea about you. Tell your mom what excactly you need them for. Lucid Dreaming. If you need to, tell her everything about lucid-dreaming, or atleast introduce her to it. Do that.
tell her all the cool kid's are doing it...
or even better, Lie to her and do it behind her back (pfft she's only your mother anyways, what does she really know?). btw This is really a good rule to follow for any situation...and pretty much anytime...ever...
hey if I was a mother...id be dissappointed if you didn't do this...
Lol yeah. Once you reach the sacred level of 100 lucid dreams, you get to learn the secrets of life
Man, complicated situation : (
Well first I have to say: My dreams arn't all that vivid too. Sometimes I hear people here say how incrably vivid their dreams were, and them I am allso like: 'dammit I want that too'. I guess it doesn't really matter all that much.. it's about the experience, the feeling.
Secondly... you mom needs to come down to earth. I don't see why taking vitamins could be Any problem, regardless the reason...
On another point... isn't lucid dreaming a bit like 'drugs', just a bit? I mean alot of the goals of experimenting with psychedelics are the same as trying to LD: It's a spiritual thing, it's cool, we are curious, we want to explore, we want to see groovy shit (vivid shit 8) )...
However you sound pretty anti-drugs yourself... the right drugs done with responsebility are totally harmless. I mean alcohol is a drug too, and a hard one. It's fine to drink a few beers every now and then, but it can lead to addiction and physical and mental damage, like more drugs can. However food can have the same effect.
But that is Totally and Utterly beside the point. My point is: Your mom should chill, but I actually agree that LDing is kind of the same as drugs, but some people forget you can do drugs for the right reasons and done in a 'right' way (like alcohol can be used in a right and wrong way).
Advice: Try to get some b6 yourself (it's not prescription is it?). If you really want to that is... maybe just try some other methods such as chocolate-milk or something :)
Good luck!
Tell her that you have heard B6 can help you get better sleep.
Or just take them?
It's a vitamin you shouldn't have to explain anything.
Last tip from me: try again, and do it correctly this time. Hide nothing.
Thanks everyone but I'm kinda suprised that this thread is still going for so long....
I've already gotten B6 Pills (a bottle of 90 50mg pills) and I've taken then 3 times, one in 50 mg, one in 100mg, and one in 200mg, but nothing has really happened, I couldn't remember any dreams.
But on the bright side, I've tried twice to increase the vividness of 2 lucids I've had, both times with great success! In fact, the last time I tried, I managed to get it to 100% realism. With no B6 of couse
Hmm..i've taken B6 for a while...i had vivid dreams for a while, and then it tapered off...might have been something to do with the fact that i hated having to remember to take it every day, it didn't strike me as that important.
a lot of these things work because you think they will...a sort of placebo effect. B vitamins are good for the nervous system, i know that...
But if you want to improve your memory power, and possibly have more vivid dreams, perhaps you should incorporate oily fish into your diet, or take Omega 3 capsules.
I believe that half of the battle of having vivid dreams is the desire to recall your dreams, and the memory to be able to do so.
Oh, and as for your mum kicking off about B6...i agree with the others, and maybe she should go educate herself on 'real' drugs and addictive substances.
perhaps if you started knocking back packets of Proplus (which is a stimulant, i might add, and therefore potentially addictive) she could get worried. Maybe then she could accuse you of 'potentially' (i use that word loosely) going on to harder things, like uppers, and trip pills.
(this coming from a caffeine junkie!!!)
B6 is found naturally in many foods, such as leafy green vegetables and bananas.
And it's not addictive.
Hmph.
