Alrite, so I've been having major trouble with Lucid Dreaming and remembering dreams. Its a long story really, but I've got a thread about it in here somewhere. Anyway, I've been hoping to try B6 because I hear that helps recall and helps make dreams more vivid. My mom went to pick some up for me the other day, and took a look at the bottle. Apparently the effects were "Raises Metabolism" and "Helps burn Carbohydrates." That didn't sound right to me. Is this the correct effect of B6, or was she looking at the wrong bottle? If this is the correct effects, I don't think it'd be safe for me, as my metabolism is high enough as it is.

PS: How much B6 should I take a day, and when?

Yippie! No more worries about blood coming out of the thing I dont have!

Anyway, tell me if it works well, because I want to pick some up soon. I dont know if it'd be healthy with me though... I can eat A LOT (and I mean A LOT) and im really, skinny. My metabolism is already really high, I dont know if it'd be safe if it was any higher.

Ok, well I had 200mg and I remember having a really vivid dream, but I can only remember one or two small details like the fact that I was in school because my brother opened my curtains which made light go straight into my eyes when I woke up, I also had parents screaming at me to get up, so my answer would be "undefined" at this current moment in time.

      Heres a question

When should I take it? Does it matter? Should I take it during the day, or before I go to bed? When?

The best way, is during a WBTB. Wake yourself up after maybe 5 hours sleep, take 100mg - 200mg, and then go back to sleep 10-30 minutes later. But, don't take B6 on a regular basis in large amounts... limit it to once or maybe twice a week, at the most. Also, you MAY notice a slight headache the next morning - I get this whenever I use B6. If you take too much, also, it will be VERY difficult to get back to sleep... I notice this, at least.

I picked up 250mg of B6. I took one before bed last night, had little trouble getting to sleep. Woke up around 2:30-3:00 randomly, I'm assuming because of a really vivid dream. Unfortuanatly I couldnt really recall it well, and now I can't remember it at all. Im sure the B6 is going to help, but any help on this matter of stubborn recall?

Sorry, but isn't 200mg an enormous amount of B6 to be taking?

I've been taking a cap with 3mg in it.

From what I hear most people take around 50 to 100mg. Some take 200mg with positive effects. I couldnt find 200, so I just picked up 250.

Im probably going to try B-Complex Vitamins, or at the least B12 as that apparently has positive effects, more so than B6.

3mg is enough for a dietary supplement, and will... well... help you be healthy. But, it isn't enough to have a noticeable effect of dreaming, IMHO.

i don't know exactly how much, but i can assure you not enough to have noticeable effects on dreaming (although enough for you to be healthy). you will need at least 100mg to have any noticeable effect. i take 200mg of B6 and 250mg of choline once or twice a week and it works pretty well.

Here is some information about Vitamin B6: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/vitaminb6.asp

According to the National Institute of Health, adults shouldn't take more than 100 mg a day. You're probably alright if you take more than that if you space them out enough though. Like someone mentioned earlier, I get a slight headache when I take a 100 mg supplement.

Take notice that alot (not all) of the higher dosage pills (200-300mg) are commonly time released capsules. It doesn't throw 300mg's of b6 directly into your system; but instead gives a consistent amount over the given period of time (usually 24-48 hours). I personally take a B-Complex, and a 250mg b6 (24-Hour) when I do decide to give it a shot. My results are way to random to give any solid advice; but I generally take the time released pill with a meal (Dinner) and then pop the B complex right before bed.

Keep in mind B6 isnt a magic dream pill; a dream journal will progressively increase your recall more then supplements ever could. (For now )

      Have you tried auto suggestion?

Auto-suggestion in combination with peanuts worked wonders for me. Before I tried that I could recall about 2 dreams a year. After triing those two I remembered 3 nearly whole dreams in only one night.

My favourit auto-suggestion for recalling is: "Tomorrow morning I will remember all dreams I had tonight"

anotherone that worked pretty good last night and might also help getting lucid dreams is: "In my dreams, I am attentive"

How does eating 50 bananas to get the amount of B6 in half a pill sound?

      Yeah you'd die.

I drink a tall glass of apple juice before I go to bed, and I always have vivid dreams which I can recall when I awake in fairly accurate detail. The B6 in apple juice is just the right amount for me. Bananas have potassium which calm your nerves and help you fall asleep faster because you're more calm and relaxed.
