I question this. What happens if your dream signs and themes change, over time? Will you prolong the wait for a DILD? Is this possible anyway?

I have been recording my dreams for the past six months and yes, I have lost themes/dream signs.
It seems like every 1-2 months my dreams change to a different theme and I get a different dream sign.
I really think though that there are different types of dream signs. There are some that are temporary, based on what your going through in life at the moment. Then there are the solid ones that usually stick around, such as your old house, best friend, and favorite hobbie for example. I'm not to knowledgeable in dream signs but thats just what ive experienced over time.

So did that lower your chances for a DILD? Or any reality checks within dreams?

Me too - I've been keeping a DJ for over 3 years now, and my dream signs also change over time. I'd say every 6 months on average. Some stay the same and others either stop being dreamsigns or I find new ones. This is normal.

If you are keeping track of your dreamsigns and realize when you may need to add one, or stop using one, your chances of LDing should remain the same. It's all about keeping yourself aware of your patterns - which is the reason keeping journals are so important.

Yeah, my dreamsigns come and go. I have three that are constant: Fish and fishing, and Kayakking, and people being nice and paying attention to me and treating me as superior. The first three I can't RC for, because I avboid fish like the plague, I HATE fish, and I never go kayakking. The third one I can RC for though. But I don't. I don't RC at all. Just WILD attempts. Which is probably the cause of my lack of lucids...

But, I find that dream-signs, most of them, come and go depending on what's happening in real-life.
