Hey Yo's, my dream recall has been suffereing the past couple weeks and I don't know why. I'm not doing anythign differently than before and I used to be able to remember 2-3 dreams without a journal. But the thing that's frustrating me the most is I wake up and I feel like I had a lucid dream but I just can't remember it. Any ways to help reboost my recall?

I've also been in a rut for the past couple of days. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I'm drinking water before bed so that I wake up in the middle of the night (last night was foiled. I woke up at regular time with a full bladder. D<). I'm auto-suggesting that I'll remember my dreams, and I always write in my dream journal. I've been falling asleep and waking up at the same time each night, and when I wake up I keep my body motionless and my eyes closed, hoping to have the dream still in memory. But since sunday night, my recall has dwindled to zero... D=

I'm thinking of plugging in my alarm clock and waking myself up during the times I used to wake up remembering my dreams (1:00 and 5:30). But I hate alarm clocks.

I only remember my dreams in the morning if I cling on to anything I may remember about them (emotions, feelings, images, colors). I then think about these things the whole time I'm getting ready in the morning and try not to disturb myself with anything else. Also, starting a dream journal might restoke your natural ability to recall dreams.

Get yourself a dream journal, wake up 3 - 4 times per night and will yourself to write in it, no matter how tired or disoriented you are. Keeping it under your pillow or next to your bed, or even on your bed helps since moving is really hard if you wake up right out of deep sleep. Before you go to bed, turn on a blank page and write the date on the top. Leave a pen on the page so you don't have to fumble around at night. As you go to bed, practice the MILD technique saying to yourself "I will remember to wake up during the night and write my dreams down."

Even if you remember a tiny detail, write it down no matter how insignificant it may seem at first. Once you do, bigger details will come to you slowly, and eventually you'll have written out your entire dream.

I totally agree. The more attention you pay to your dreams, the more your subconscious mind is going to realize that your dreams are important to you, and the more it is going to help you remember them.

In addition to not moving when you wake up, and waiting for your dreams and other impressions to come to you, which will usually be things you dreamed about, write down at least the key points of what you dream about when you wake up.
Then to impress upon your subconsious mind how important your dreams are to you, review the dreams you had the previous night before going to bed the next night. And if you really want to increase your dream recall, then start analyzing your dreams by keeping track of dream signs and discrepancies that your dreams present you with.

The more attention you pay to your dreams, the more dreams you will remember.

Do not forget them in the first place...

What do you do once you wake up?
Do you wake up by yourself, or are you woken by sounds?

Maybe the sun has started being so bright that it wakes you up in the morning?

Give me more details(?), I am sure you can solve this easy...
I know who I am, as I become...

I usually wake up from sounds, so im thinking about getting some earplugs. That would probably help.

Moved to Dream recall forum.

You had good recall with out using a dream journal, have you got one now? They do help, all you need to do is wake up after each dream period and jot down anything you can remember or how you feel.
