My recall hasn't been very good lately... I've had good nights and bad nights but it really seems to vary a lot.
And I think my alarm clock may be part of it...
So I came up with this idea. What if I repeated to myself as I was falling asleep that my alarm clock would signal my dream memories to resurface and help me remember? turning an enemy into an ally. Would this be a good idea?

Sounds good to me. This is just a guess, but how 'bout writing dreams down when the alarm clock buzzes, too? And when the alarm buzzes, do nothing else but dream journal. Eventually, your subconcious will associate buzzing with dream recall. So yes, auto-suggestion of association, and dream journal-buzz noise association. I predict you'll get results with that pair. Perhaps reading past entries (and remembering them in your head) while listening to the buzzer can strengthen this bond, as well.

Of course, the buzzing sound is kind of annoying, so maybe if you could use a different sound? Like one of those new-fangled i-pod alarms or something. But you'd have to keep it consistent, whatever the tone/song you choose.

I chose the alarm clock because It always seems distracting, so turning that to helping me at all I think would be good.

Has for me. I've woken up 3 times in the middle of the night from autosuggestion. Which was surprising for me...
