      job stress/ dream recall

I was recalling at least one dream a night for a while, sometimes two or three, some lucid and some not. I now am recalling few dreams. This seems to coincide with an increase in stress level at work. Have any of you experienced this?

I don't work, but w/o a doubt, it's harder to remember dreams when I feel stressed out about schoolwork.

Every morning, I can manage to remember at least 2 dreams, even w/o a journal.

But, my experiences are interesting. Every morning after waking up, I sometimes have absolutely no conscious memory of any dreams. This is initially discouraging, but, I go, with blind faith, into a confidence that the memories will return. After a few minutes of backtracking and thinking, I get a flood of dream memories. It's like having revelations at will, lol!!

God I hope so. That would help to explain my recent lack of dream success. It stands to reason I guess that if you have a lot going on in your Conscious mind, the subconscious has to be taking a beating too.

It can also happen if you get lazy with your dream journal.

When I for instance have much school work to do, I think about all the school work I have to do when I wake up in the morning.
This make my mind busy, so I don't focus so much on my dreams than I usually do when I wake up.

So yes, increase of stress is indirectly bad for my dream recall.
      Are you dreaming?

I have found when I am really stressed or worked up about anything, not only do I lose my ability to LD but to have anydream recall what-so-ever. This usually goes on for two to three weeks after the stress has been lifted; it also results in me taking breaks from this place...

Experienced it? I AM IT! I'm sitting here at work right now(45th day in captivity)
It is amazing how much sleep deprivation can mess with your recall and lucidity!

Since it's summer I have been recalling around 2+ dreams a night.

During school I would only recall around one a week because I was so stressed out with schoolwork and other problems .

But sometimes if I wake from sleeping to have no memories of any dreams, I just go about with my normal activities and usually I see something that sparks a super long, vivid dream (sortof like what AirRick101 said)

I just had a load of exams and could only remember at most one a night, which was bad for me, but now they're finnished, my dream recall is going up again. But i guess it'll go down again when I get my results or when I go back to school on monday.

      stressed w/ dream recall

Sometimes when I am really stressed I just dream about what will happen the next day usually bad stuff, like run through the schoolday several times in each something goes wrong, and then do it again with multiple things going wrong and then how I react. I really dislike it because if you have a bad day/week sometimes when dreams seem like they are sanctuary they just go through the bad day all again. Sometimes I would rather not dream than have horrible ones. I also find that it helps sometimes if I just relax and try to think how important is this all in the large scheme of things (unless it is important). Also clearing your mind ,if possible, usually helps.

Hey! We have finally released our products and man what a difference it does make! 5 lucid dreams and a WILD the first week when I returned to normal sleep patterns!

WOOT! Of course I did have that wild dream the other night about hunting down and destroying vampires that only attacked lucid dreamers...

Stress kills my dreams, and dream recall.
I've been stressed out from school exams, wondering about University acceptances, to where i'm going to live, to work, to family stuff....it's been killing me... and i don't think i'm wrongfully placing the blame on stress killing my dream recall. IT SUCKS.

I think they should offer volunteer positions on demolition crews.

You show up for an hour a day. They give you a helmet, a bat, steel toe boots, an axe, and a pair of safety goggles (to make sure your eyes don't fall out I guess). You slam a shot of bourbon or a pixy stick (whatever's your flavor) and go nuts smashing, breaking, carressing... er, crashing everything that you can in the place. After an hour, one of the demolition crew hits the gong and you come back and give your equipment to the next person. You get to keep the safety goggles as a souveneir. And they have free juice and fig newtons afterwords.

      Whattya think?
An idea is something you haven't fully considered.
A belief is merely a repetitive thought.
A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.
