-because you ned to remember your dream to have a lucid one, otherwise you would lucid but not realise when you woke up
-so that it would be easier to recognise a dreamsign
-because recalling dreams gets you into the frame of mind to to think about your dreams a lot and become lucid in them

How do we know that everyones does it that way

Actually everyone doesn't do it exactly that way, but in order to attain lucidity it is key... That you have dream recall. You need to remember something in order to realize the fact that you are dreaming. Dream recall is like a trigger point./ You cannot initiate Lucid dreaming without it. For instance Im natural never purposely set up a dream sign, but at times my dreams were so redundant that the repetative nature of the dream setting became my dream sign in certain cases. It became automatic.

After recalling your first few dreams, you see how cool they are, and you are motivated to be conscious the next time you dream! lol.

Personally, I'd say it's somewhat possible to lucid dream w/o recall. It's just that when you recall, you have a conscious memory of the "feel" for the dream. But if you don't deliberately recall, the dream memories from past are probably still within the mind anyway.

I don't ever remember something outa place or unusual i my dreams I just as soon as i start dreaming i realize it with no triggers then i ld.As if i can tell i am a sleep right away without having to recall anything.I just know what my body is doing somehow.and even if shadow is some expert on this i don't care because it is not the same with everyone.Like say if i dream that i got outa bed and brushed my teeth and ate something.I wouldn't even get a few steps untill i realize i am dreaming because i am moving but my body is still laying down and somehow i know it.Sorry Shadow it probably works that way with most people it just kinda comes natural to me and i know i am not alone cuz i am not the only one who rides a short bus

No Evanescent Im not saying that it's impossible to do it w/o dream recall. See I know exactly what you are saying. This is how I initiate Lucid Dreaming also. For instance Im in my dream and all of a sudden I realize im dreaming w/o anything strange happening or any dream signs. But the nature is still the same, You must have something that triggers it. When I acknowledge that Im dreaming, it's the feeling I have, and I know you know that feeling. It just feels different unlike the waking world, this feeling that you have is your dream sign. A dream sign doesn't always have to be visual. This is where your Recall comes into play also. The Recall is basis of that feeling. No one outside of Natural Lder's can empathize with this feeling. Because it's been with you all your life. All naturals initiate Lucid Dreaming this way. No visual dream signs, no pre-existing dream recalls, but yet existing dream signs that are based on feelings, and yet dream recall that is also based on feelings.

Oh so the trigger is the the feeling ok i GOTCHA

Normally lucid dreams are a lot easier to recall than normal dreams but you still need some recall or your going to have problems.
