      Vivid recall last night

I have always had quite a bit of trouble recalling my dreams and last night I had three extremely long, vivid dreams which I was able to recall in complete detail and note them down. For some reason my scribblings are always messier than normal when I'm writing down a dream, so I hope I am able to read them to type them up when I get home.

I planned to go to bed a little earlier than normal but actually ended up being a little late. I made a point of completely relaxing before sleeping using the 61point technique. My alarm was set for 4am and I awoke at 3:58am, glanced at the clock, and instantly recalled the dream I had. At this point I attempted WILD after fully relaxing again but ended up being fully awake 45minutes later.

I rolled over and went to sleep. The second dream kind of continued on from the first, and I was able to remember everything. It was the most vivid dream I've had. It wasn't anything particularly spectacular, but the fact that I can could recall it in perfect detail amazes me. Again, I awoke a few minutes before my alarm was due. By this point I was quite excited at my successes in dream recall, nevermind failing to become lucid.

My third dream actually had a start, middle and end, as if it was a movie. As soon as the dream ended, I awoke and remembered every detail. This was a fascinating dream, almost like a glimpse into a possible post-apocalyptic future. I'm going to post it tonight because I think it was quite surreal.

Despite these dreams ranging from a bit odd to completely bizarre and impossible, I still didn't become lucid. I'm going to go back to doing reality checks at set times and on set events through the day, rather than when something seems odd - since I feel I'm hardly doing any at all any more.

I can't wait to get home and type up my notes. I must have 4-5 pages of an A5 notebook sitting by my pillow. I've never written so much down after a dream, but didn't want to forget anything. I've gone home to my scribblings before only to see two or three "keywords" in the middle of a page, which are completely meaningless to me. It's often like someone else wrote it.

If you think you can't, you're right.

What I hate is when I've written down my dreams without turning on the light and later find out that I've written lines ON TOP of each other and can't make out anything!

Congrats on the great morning of recall!
