      Dream Recall Worsening

Over the last few weeks, I've become interested in lucid dreaming again, and so I've been recording my dreams in a dream journal. I was doing so diligently for a while, but then I slacked off for five days or so, and my recall suffered. What's bothering me, though, is that my recall doesn't seem to be improving much as yet (I only started writing in my dream journal again about two or three days ago). Is it normal for such a short lapse to affect recall so much?

I think, recall is dependent on strict schedule. When you break it, You have to pay additional attention to build it again. After you restore it, it should work in accelerated rate.

But also external factors may be in play. Could you please specify, what you think could be the cause? Maybe it will help.

      Bye

It's all in your head. Just relax. Once you really get good recall going, it's not too easy to stop.

One thing helps me is a text-to-speech file that I made up that has the following suggestions on it.

Remembering all of your dreams upon awakening.
You remember all of your dreams upon awakening.

I create a 2 minute loop with these suggestions on it and listen to it while I sleep at night which really seems to have my dream recall.

I also have some other suggestions that I put on it which are very simple, but they are less effective than the dream recall suggestion is as I repeat the phrase "You are Dreaming" 6 times during each loop, which sometimes gets into my dreams and helps me become lucid.

The the Remembering all of your dreams suggestions work the best of all though.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I'm inclined to think that TaNK was right, because once I stopped fretting about it, the recall seemed to improve. iadr might also have had something, since my schedule has been rather erratic of late.
