      Where you sleep influences recall

Does anyone know or have a guess on if where you sleep influences your dream recall. Because whenever I sleep in my room my recall is awful and I don't remember anything, but when I sleep at a friends house my recall is amazing and I remember everything. Please try to help me

Maybe cause at home you are awoken by your family or roommates starting their day and startling you awake?

I assume that when you sleep at your friends you stay up later and wake up in all ease without too much to worry about yet?

Whenever I awake being home alone I recall dreams much better; No fuss going on around me, makes it easier for the delicate dreammemories to resurface in my experience.

I seem to recall more dreams and have more lucids if I sleep in a different place than I'm used to, though I can't pin a reason on why.

My guess is that you sleep lighter when you are in a strange place because you are not as comfortable mentally and physically. This is very common. You can also develop associations with sleeping in certain places. Lots of people go to sleep on a couch or a guest room when they want to LD.

I used to cash in on this by sleepnig in strange places as much as possible. Park benches, friends houses, lawns, hallways. That was when I was on a polyphasic sleep schedule, and really hard core about dreaming.

I agree with Robot Butler, on everything except sleeping on park benches. That's just scary! hahaha

Sleeping on parkbenches for dreams is more than hardcore, thats freakin' crazy man. I doubt I could get to sleep let alone stay away from a nightmare. I'd say there is such a thing as being to physically and mentally uncomfortable.
That said, I always did wanna be unemployed...

      Cheers

It could just be to do with the change of environment.
