      Question Which is more important.........?

To improve dream recall, you are supposed to stay completely still and focus on the dreams you had right? However, you are also supposed to reality check as soon as you wake up to see if it is a "false awakening". I don't know which is more important to do. If I do the reality check first, then i may lose forget some of my dreams, and I am trying to get to 5 a night (3 away). But if I do the dream remembering first, then it will become a habit to do the RC last, and in a dream, I would forget to do it if I didn't do it right away. So, anyone have any advice?

      Two words; Mental check.
Open your eyes, focus on something, will it to move, test and see if you're really awake by just laying there, and thinking "is this really a dream?" Try and interact with things through your mind, such as moving things telepathically, or lifting yourself out of bed without moving. Or, just focus. If you focus and thinkin hard and clearly enough, you should be able to tell.
This way, you can both lie still, and reality check. Just, focus.
      Good luck~

you could also RC by blocking your airway and trying to breathe - won't get in the way of staying still or keeping your eyes closed.

I advise wearing a mask. If you wake up and can't see anything, chances are that you're awake. If you can, then either it fell off or you're dreaming. A while ago there was a thread on how it could increase recall as well.
