      First Person or Third Person?

Is it more effective to write down your dreams in first person or third person? I'd say my recall is pretty decent, and I write my dreams down in third person. Does my recall have the ability to become more clear by writing in third person, or is it just a matter of personal preference?

I write mine differently depending on what the dream was like. Some dreams feel more like 3rd person to me. I might be playing the part of someone besides myself, or watching the dream like a movie. Other dreams feel like normal, first person experiences.

I also switch from present to past tense depending on how I remember the dream.

I've heard that it helps more to write in first person. And to use "present" words.

Instead of "he walked down the hall" some will suggest "I walk down the hall"

I do it by the dream, if the dream is third person, I write it as third person.
      Bollocks.

      well I personally think...
it doesn't make a bit of different guys...
whatever flows easier at the time. I dont want to be stuck choosing what perspective I want to write in... especially when I'm half asleep!

I write in first person when it's actually me doing it, but third person when I'm just viewing a scene, and I write in past tense. I remember 2-5 dreams most nights, and some nights I'll remember nothing because I just want to sleep.
