Thread: Great long term dream memory

Since I started using a tape recorder for my dream journal I noticed my long term memory of dreams is far better than it was ever before. My short term memory, of remebering things in the dream untill I can record them isn't as good as it was before. Infact it was way better before, when I wrote everything down in every dream. I would remeber like 3 or 4 dreams a night. Right now however I only remeber one or two.

The thing is though if I remeber something long enough to record it, I remeber it for a very long time. Without ever listening to what I said, and without checking I can remeber a dream I had over 2 weeks ago. Infact I can remeber each dream I had every night of the last 2 weeks, without ever checking. Before, when I just wrote them down, I would forget a lot of dreams by the afternoon. Some times if I waited a few days and went back to read old dreams, I would not remeber having them.

I am not talking about just good dreams either. I can remeber boring dreams where nothing happens, weeks after. I can get a clear picture of them in my head. Not sure what it is about saying them out loud but it seems to really work.
