You have to build a base my friend, this is one of the many reasons I started over with my Lucid dreaming. I've been able to LD all my life and remeber alot of the dreams but not all the details I would like. I suggest building your way up starting with a dream journal. Its a royal pain in the ass however it worked wonders for me. At first I was only recording about 2-3 dreams a night, after putting a little more effort into it and taking the time to write my dreams out each time I awoke throught the night my dream recall sky rocketed. Now I record around 10-12 dreams a night. .
A dream journal also offers numerous other benefits, you can look over previous dreams and identify common dream signs/trends which makes it alot easier to attain lucidity. Gotta know where ya been to know where your goin. I'd especially write as much as possible on the Lucid Dreams you do have as soon as you awaken from them, paying close attention to feelings that your experienced. For me gaining, keeping, and remebering lucidity is more of a general awarness then a specific RT or dream sign. By recording these things you know what to look for in the future and dream recall will get better with time at least that was the case for me....
