Actually I have great news. She showed up a couple of days ago. The funny thing was earlier that day I had been thinking about her and thinking about how hard it is to lose a pet this way, and to never know what happened and never officially say good-bye. So I decided that since she had been gone nearly three weeks, it was time to say good-bye. So I thought about her and said my good-byes and then felt some closure.

A few hours later she showed up at the back door meowing horsely and looking very skinny. She seemed desperatley happy to be home, and after eating and drinking stayed by my side the rest of the evening, then slept on top of me all night. I didn't sleep well, but I was so grateful to have her back that I was glad to have her nearby.

I really wonder where she was. I'm wondering if she got locked in someone's shed or garage. It makes me feel so bad to think of what she might have gone through to get back home.

That's funny. I love the way every cat is so individual.

And here is something else funny. The older cat sometimes imitates the kitten and sucks on the blanket too. She never did that before the kitten started doing it.

I recently got an addition to my brat pack so I just like any other proud parent have whip out the photos.

The eldest of the bunch is Diamond aka Muttface.
Padre the 'witchcat' was my second pet.
THe Newest addition is Powder, a female albino ferret. She's nothing but a bundle of energy wrapped in fur when she's playing.





I also have a yellow budgie and a blue budgie but they are impossible to get decent pictures of. Okay.. okay.. im shutting up now.

I always wanted ferret, but aren't they biters?

Awww cute critters, Vex! Have you ever had a ferret before? Better watch her, they can squeeze themselves into insanely small openings and get lost!

I have a couple parrots.

I suppose it's time to introduce our new Doberman puppy, Red XIII, to everyone (though my close friends have already been slammed with tons of pics already, but they have been nice enough to humor me and not put me on "ignore", lol - you know who you are ). He is a red/rust Doberman, and those of you who are familiar with Final Fantasy can guess where his name came from (along with the names of our two cats).


Red XIII @ 4 weeks old (still at the breeder's)



Red @ 6 weeks (still at breeder's)





Red @ 9 weeks (still at breeder's) - the puppies' ears were cropped the week before, so their ears are taped up to a cup. Most reputable breeders will not let their pups go without cropping the ears since this is the "ideal" look of the Doberman.





Red @ 11 weeks (after coming home) - after the ears are healed, they have to be "posted" or taped up for about 6 months to get them to stand. They have to be re-taped every 4-5 days or so.





Red @ 13 weeks - in between ear postings





Red @ 15 weeks - playing in the kiddie pool on a hot day



He is currently 15 1/2 weeks and weighs 40 lbs. Full grown, he will be around 90-100 lbs. We start obedience training next weekend. He's such a good puppy, and the cats are starting to accept him into the family more and more everyday.

And I finally got around to bringing my camera to my friend's house where my cat lives! So, this is Monica. She's not mean by any stretch of the imagination, but she's not used to having her picture taken. She's actually quite affectionate with those that she knows... usually to the point of not leaving them alone. However, when she's done being pet, she's done and will leave. That's just the way those things work.



I'm getting a feeling that she doesn't like my camera, though.



But I love her... and will take her away some day to live with me. Just me!

This is my cat, Miss Kitty. She's about three months old, and enjoys playing with her toys and climbing up the walls/ curtains. I'm just waiting until she's old enough to get fixed and declawed!



She also likes jumping all over me when it's time to get up in the moring :p

Are you sure you want to declaw her? My cat has all his claws and they have never ever caused problems (in his adult life). Give him a scratching post and he's happy! Also this way we know that if he ever gets lost outside he'd be able to catch food.

I wish I didn't have to declaw her. She has a scratching post, but she seems to prefer the curtains and my work clothes over the scratching post!

Well I think that's just because she's a kitten. You can definitely train her to not scratch, the way you can train a puppy to not chew your shoes or use the house as his private bathroom!

Next time she tries to scratch something, bring her over to the post and put her paws on it. It does work eventually.

Missy Kitty is very cute I agree with Mes Tarrant about the declawing though. But if you are still going to declaw her, the sooner the better. The old and heavier a cat gets, the more painful they are after surgery and the longer they take to recover. Some cats develop behavioral problems such as aggression if they are declawed older. At my clinic, the ideal weight to declaw a cat is 3 pounds. If you are going to amputate her fingertips, do her a favor and do it while she is still small!

NeAvO: yeah, she's a biter. I read up a bit on that and it seems I have to become the household dominant ferret to get her to listen. Haha. They're smart and curious critters.

Burns. Thanks for the compliment. I had a few problems with her in the beginning, she got into the vents a few times but I think my house if ferret proof now.

An update, My dog Muttface/Diamond had puppies today. Her first litter so I had to play midwife to make sure they all came along okay. Lost the first one but the rest are alive and well so far. So now there are possibly 8 more little creatures that will soon be overrunning my house.

You were right, that one with the dots on either side of its stomach is cute!

Did you breed Diamond, Vex? Are the pups full Jack Russells? Cute pups, there are going to be little monsters, you wait!

I'm glad you brought this thread back up, Vex, because I took some new pics of Red last night that I wanted to share.

Red XIII is 5 months old, and weighs about 65 lbs. now.

Awwww Vex they are so cute I want one I'm tempted to teach you the "shimmering" way if you give me one :p
