Thread: Post Your DV Member Dreams

I had a dream last night that had OpheliaBlue and gab in it. In the dream it was a quiet evening. I decided to go to bed... but when I got to my room, frigging gab was in my bed sleeping. So I sighed and got a mattress out from the cupboard, then had to sleep on the floor.

Before I went into my room, I went past Ophelia and my brother, who were sitting on beanbags watching TV. I also have a feeling that in the beginning of my dream, my brother was outside so I decided to throw a water bottle at him. Heh.

I dream of DV members all the time - friends and strangers alike!
Atras and I talk all the time outside of DV, and he has been in a lot of my dreams lately.
I had a totally embarrassing non-LD about him last night, but luckily it helped me to get lucid!

I was in my parents' lounge room with Atras and Bro. We were about to watch a DVD that we had hired. It had Lindsay Lohan in it, so we thought it was going to be pretty bad, but we started watching it anyway. We soon realised that it was actually a softcore porno. We saw it was 50 minutes long, and we were like, "Hmm... should we keep watching this?" We all felt a bit weird about it, but decided we'd keep watching it anyway for giggles.
My mum came home, and we paused the film and pretended like nothing weird was going on. Mum was looking for another hired DVD/game that she needed to return to the store. I helped her find it and put it back in the case, and she left again.
I realised I needed to go to the toilet, and for some reason I pulled down my pants and squatted right there in the middle of the lounge room. Before I started peeing, I realised that this was totally weird, and I got super embarrassed because Bro and Atras were still there - Atras was sitting on the couch and looking at me from about a metre away. I tried to cover my bits (strangely, the thing I was most embarrassed about was the fact that I wasn't groomed down there,) and stayed in an awkward squatting position while I pulled my pants up.
I retreated to the laundry toilet at the back of the house. I shut the door and sat on the toilet. I was totally convinced this was real still, but I have gotten into the habit of doing RCs while I'm on the toilet, because toilet disasters are a very common dream sign for me. I plugged my nose, and I almost missed the RC failure because I could barely breathe. I thought I might have been able to breathe a tiny bit though, and I remembered that my nose was a bit blocked in waking life, so I tried again and paid more attention. I plugged my nose and took a sharp breath in. I took a few more breaths in and out with my nose still plugged. I was so surprised because I had been sure I was awake. I was relieved that my weird squatting thing had just been a dream! (Although I did think that this would still be pretty embarrassing if I was sharing the dream with Atras.)
I walked out to the main laundry area. I thought about smashing through the ceiling and flying away, but I decided to go get Atras first. I went back to the lounge room, and Bro and Atras were still there. I asked if they wanted to come with me, and they followed me out the front door. I realised that they might not be able to fly, but I tried not to think about it too much because I didn't want to psych myself out of flying with the thought of carrying the extra weight. One of the guys was on either side of me, and I grabbed their hands. To my surprise, I barely even had to jump off the ground, because Atras and Bro started zooming up and carrying me with them. It required no effort at all on my part, and we were flying faster than I usually do by myself. I thought, "Wow, this is so much easier - I should travel like this more often!"
We were flying up above my house, and I tried to think of where we could go. I decided I wanted to go to Candy Land, in case the task I suggested is chosen for Task of the Month. I saw a fairground in the distance that was very colourful - lots of bright pink and orange especially. I told Bro and Atras that's where we were going, and they started to fly down towards it. I had to focus on creating the Candy Land as we got closer, because I could see that there was still some normal greenery around. By the time we landed, the fairground was surrounded with massive trees made of lollipops, some smaller candy bushes and bunches of lollipop flowers, some large candy cane sign posts, and stalls all around with lolly displays. I picked one of the orange lollipop flowers and started eating it. It had a mild peachy flavour, but it wasn't that strong tasting. I kept it in my mouth while I walked around the fairground. I went to one of the stalls, which my primary school friend, Michaela, was manning. I had a false memory that she had been on holiday interstate, and that we were meant to catch up when she returned.
I said, "Hey, you're back! You didn't get in touch with me when you got home."
She said, "Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot about that."
I had a look at the stall, and saw that there weren't actually lollies at this one, they were just selling wrist bands with messages for various causes on them. One of them was something about choosing to live a cruelty-free lifestyle. I thought about getting one, but I decided I'd go find some more candy to eat instead.
I looked around and noticed that lollipops were the most prominent feature of the fairground, but I'd already had one and I wanted a bit of variety. I had seen a second area of the fairground from the sky earlier, so I decided I'd fly there and check it out. I couldn't see Atras or Bro, but they had seemed like mindless DCs anyway, so I didn't mind leaving them there. I flew up and saw the other area of Candy Land, and flew towards it. There was a mound of Hubba Bubba, and I hovered above the ground to pick a piece off the top. I chewed it, and it tasted like grape flavour, but again, the taste wasn't as strong as in waking life. I landed on the ground and decided that I was satisfied with the Candy Land task.

Maybe I won't post the whole dreams from now on, but I'll give a summary and a link to my DJ.

Last night, I dreamt that Atras came to visit me in Australia, but my dad ruined the mood by being very unwelcoming and argumentative.

Then I had a conversation with Astrosomnia about how lots of my close friendships have broken down since we were dating (years ago.)

You just reminded me, I had a dream with OZ in it recently that I ought to post here. It started with being in a really cool old hotel building where some kind of convention or show was about to happen and seeing a 15 foot tall guy in a gorilla suit laying on the roof of the similarly cool building across the street, and it turned into a sort of murder-mystery whodunit game with everybody being in cosplay where I ran into OZ.

I dreamt that I was editing LD tutorials with Darkmatters and dutchraptor (I wasn't lucid during this - d'oh!)
And then I showed Darkmatters a technique my housemate used to create a stop motion animation of a spinning double helix.

It was fucked up. Non lucid. We had sex at my place and THEN went out. I don't remember much about going out other than I wanted to go home and he kept stopping by his workplaces. I remember 2, and oddly enough they were my workplaces. Anyway, we finally ended up back home (my home), and he slept on the couch. He was in that fold-in-half sleep position like some babies do. Pretty awkward overall. I've been having a lot of unhappy dreams lately.

I'm writing one up about CanisLucidus right now. (Not a sex dream!)

I met with CanisLucidus when I was non-lucid first, and then went to find him again when I was lucid.

Spoiler for Non-Lucid:

I was looking around for another phone to use, when I saw CanisLucidus sitting at the kitchen bench. I thought he was holding an iPod, but then I recognised the purple cover and knew it was my old iPhone. I remembered giving it to him a while ago.
He was telling me how he had used the phone to record the podcasts, but he said it took him a while to get used to the Australian date format on the phone. He said it happened again recently when DV's date format defaulted to international, and I felt kinda guilty for putting him out (and all the other US members on DV) by suggesting a date formatting option. Canis gave a backhanded compliment about "the one thing Australians have got right" and I thought he was still talking about the date format, but he went on to say something unrelated... I can't remember what it was now.

Spoiler for Lucid:

The first thing I thought to do was find CanisLucidus for our challenge. I willed him to be in the kitchen, and ran around the corner to greet him. I hadn't really paid much attention to his appearance before, and I was surprised to see that he was really tall and lanky, which is not what I expected. His other features didn't match what I was imagining either - he was slightly gothic looking, with pale skin and shoulder-length dyed black hair, although his appearance changed throughout the dream - he got shorter, his skin became more tanned, he had short brown hair, and then messy blonde hair. (I guess I had trouble with this because I don't actually know what he looks like in waking life.)
I was excited to see him and ran up and gave him a hug. He was kind of unresponsive and didn't even look at me.
I said, "Hey... CanisLucidus, right? It's Dreamer!"
He still didn't say anything, but he gave me a friendly smile and seemed to have a bit more life in him. I took his hand and led him to the middle of the room while I remembered the tasks of the month.

The first one I thought of was Basic Task i - National Repeat Day: Get a DC to say something to you, and just repeat it back verbatim. Try to keep this up for as long as the DC will stand it.
I said to Canis, "Well... say something!"
He put on a sarcastic voice and mocked me: "Well... say something!"
Damn it! This was the wrong way around!
I almost responded, but I stayed silent for a minute to see if he would say anything else.
Eventually he said something that didn't make any sense, it seemed like he just strung a few words together. It was something like, "Are you going to bukka?"
Despite having no idea what that meant, I said, "Are you going to bukka?"
I waited for him to say something else, but he didn't seem to be very interested in the game, and walked off into the next room. I figured I wasn't going to get much more out of him for this task, so I started thinking about the other tasks.

I remembered Basic Task ii - Gay Pride Month: Kiss a DC of the same gender.
I knew Canis couldn't really help me with this one, and he was kind of just staring into space anyway, so I decided to leave him there while I went to find a girl to kiss (sorry Canis!)
I walked outside the house. It felt like the middle of the night, and the street was dimly lit by street lamps. I saw a middle-aged woman walking past on the other side of the road. She didn't look very approachable - she was kind of posh and seemed to be in a hurry, but I decided to run over anyway before she got too far away. I didn't bother with an introduction, I just grabbed her face and went in for a kiss. She was holding shopping bags in both hands, so she couldn't do much about it, but she turned her head to the side and avoided my kiss. I tried again and pecked her on the lips. She looked quite shocked, and I felt a bit bad about assaulting this woman. I thought to myself, "That's certainly not how I imagined that task going down," because I'm not averse to same-sex lovin' with my DCs, haha.

I decided to get on with Advanced Task ii - Meteor Watch Day: Summon a meteor and investigate the impact site. Describe what you find/see.
I was feeling really confident about my dream powers and was certain that I could achieve all the tasks in this dream. I looked up at the sky and held out my hands to summon a meteor. I saw one coming down towards me, but I knew I was safe and didn't need to move out the way. It crashed into the ground a few metres in front of me. The crater was smaller than I was expecting - it was round, with a diameter of about 1 metre. There was nothing out of the ordinary inside, just some rubble and a few small flames.

I decided to go for the 'quadruple hitter' (I just heard this term in the podcast, haha) with the Bonus Task - Aquarium Month: Dive into a huge and empty aquarium - it is up to you to design unique and beautiful flora and fauna to populate it. Create an aquarium landscape and its inhabitants from scratch.
I was still in the middle of the road, so I tried to think about how I could get to an empty aquarium. I considered various types of transportation/teleportation, but then I thought, "Why don't I just close my eyes and dive?"
I closed my eyes and allowed myself to fall backwards through the ground. I was free falling through the void and put my hands out into a diving position. I imagined being in the middle of a massive tank, and I soon started to feel myself surrounded by water (I was still in total darkness.) I have never had a problem breathing underwater in dreams, (which is strange considering I have trouble being underwater in waking life - cool story about that at the end*) so I felt perfectly comfortable and confident, and spent a few seconds taking in the feeling of the water.
I opened my eyes and found myself deep underwater in a huge tank. It was really bright blue, like the inside of a swimming pool. I started swimming up to the surface. I tried not to look for the edges of the tank because I wanted to make it as large as possible, since I hate the idea of animals in captivity. I decided that it was going to be a sanctuary for rescued marine life that had been displaced or injured by dredging, fishing, and oil spills, rather than a tourist attraction.
When I reached the surface, I put my hands underneath me and used them as a jet pack to propel myself into the air above the water. I kept flying higher into the sky, looking down at the water below me, with the intention of keeping the edges of the tank out of sight to make it larger and larger. I was flying straight up at high speed for about 30 seconds when I decided the tank was big enough (still nothing compared to the animals' ocean home though, but I reminded myself that they were rescued.) I could see the edges now, which looked like the edges of a swimming pool, but the tank was much deeper.
I hovered in the air and thought about what animals I would place. I remembered reading sivason's dream where he made a point of including a shark, so that's what I decided to start with. I used my finger like a pointer to place a shark, which only looked about 2cm long from this distance. I could still see the shape of the shark very clearly, and could see his little shadow moving under the water. I placed two more sharks, and then placed about 10 turtles using my index finger in the same way. Next, I used all my fingers, wiggling them like 'spirit fingers', to place hundreds of fish. I didn't give much thought to what kind of fish they would be, because they were too far away for me to see in detail anyway - they kind of just looked like specks swimming around. I placed a few dolphins, and before I could think about anything else, the dream started to destabilise.
I was falling backwards out of the sky and losing the dream, but I thought, "NO! The task says FLORA and fauna! There's only animals so far, I need to get back and finish this task!"
I was really determined to get back in control of this dream, so I put out my hand like a jet pack again, and thought, "I just need to hover, I don't need to fly back into the sky because I'm still exactly where I was."
I looked down and saw my aquarium 'canvas' as I'd left it, so I quickly thought, "Okay, flora... lillypads!"
I used my finger to place one single lillypad. YES! I immediately felt victorious, like I had officially completed the task, but I kept going and placed some more lillypads, and some seaweed/seagrass at the bottom of the aquarium.
The dream was still a bit unstable, and I wanted to wake up before I lost lucidity. I started spinning around really quickly, creating a whirlwind around me as I closed my eyes and entered a void, and affirmed that when I opened my eyes, I would wake up and recall my dream.

Too bad I forgot about the Father's Day task - I totally could have made Canis grow a pregnant belly!!

OpheliaBlue was in one of my dreams. I saw this thread earlier, and thought I'd probably never have a dream with a DV member involved, unless I knew them in waking life first. I was totally wrong about that.

I'm going somewhere on my bicycle, and it starts to rain heavily. But the way the wind is blowing, there are large dry areas due to big trees blocking all the rain. I stay in these dry spots as I go up a hill, and find a parking garage type of building that I have to pass through. I carry my bike up the stairs, and go into a room where a bunch of people are taking a test. Trying to be respectfully quiet, I sneak around the side. Before I can make it out of the room, they all get up to leave, and I am blocked by a crowd of people, slowly making their way down the stairs I just came up. When it all cleared, I sat down at one of the tables to eat a sandwich. After a few bites, I notice OpheliaBlue sitting across from me. I don't know what to say, it seems like a rare encounter that may never happen again. Well, I could say something or nothing. I ask what OpheliaBlue is doing for work these days. Apparently, living on a native American reservation, counseling and supporting at risk youths who live in the city, and being a camp director. I found it strange that OpheliaBlue was an indian guy, because I always assumed she was a girl.

I was having a written conversation with CanisLucidus and possibly a few others on DV.
Something Canis was saying/doing had a direct effect on my dream recall - any time he did it, I would vividly remember my previous dream, and would actually feel myself returning to the dream state, like I was experiencing the dream as I recalled it.

CL Recall Technique should be a thing!

18th June, 2014 - I was discussing time dilation in non-lucid dreams with a few people, including swakefield.

21st June, 2014 - I went on my computer and saw that Mismagius was logged into my Google Drive account, and he was editing the posts. I wondered how he had access to the document, since I hadn't given him a link or perms. I was happy that he had taken an interest, though!

Non-lucid with Sensei: We were at the beach, and he was telling me about some non-lucid dreams he had. He said he hadn't got any points for the DV Members Dream Challenge yet.
Lucid with CanisLucidus: I did the Aladdin task of the year, and wished for a perfect cookie for CL to finally enjoy.

Had appearances last night from CanisLucidus (lucid) and OpheliaBlue (non-lucid.)
They're both in this entry.

I also had some non-lucid fragments the other day that I haven't posted, I may do at some point if I catch up on some older entries.
One fragment featured gab, who was holding a presentation at a church (but it wasn't a church function) and there was a table with yummy nibbles that I was eating.
Another fragment featured Original Poster, who I was talking to about some kind of technique, and his role on the forum.

I've had lots of DV member dreams since I last posted, lucid and non-lucid, but I haven't been keeping up with my online DJ lately (I've been busy moving house.)
I've written notes on my phone for some of them, so I might post them when I find some time.
The people who I remember dreaming about are: CanisLucidus, Sensei, NyxCC, OpheliaBlue, Original Poster, Atras, Sageous, Mancon, Xanous, Jenkees, Frazer.
I think interacting with DV members in waking life acts like super incubation for me!
