NOBLEWOMAN LAUGH by King Wugguls on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free (Okay that one is really crappy, unless I did it around 3 AM on a Friday night. And people would think I'm making weird love with someone if I wasn't trying to tone it down a bit.

I have a mongrel accent if that makes sense. Not meaning it's unsophisticated, but it's like a mashup. My first language was Russian because my parents on both sides were born in Russia, but since I live in Australia I soon forgot most things in Russian. So now sometimes when I speak I might pronounce things oddly or with strange emphasis due to Russian/Germanic language traits like rolled "R"s being fairly ingrained into my speaking habits.
Alright, here's mine...
Most people are just typing their accents now, it seems like. :/ I love accents. And I normally don't speak this fast, just nerves, I hate reading out loud. And when I'm relaxed I have more twang, to me there isn't much of that here.
Accent - YouTube
That part at the end was me saying "Mare, mayor, mirror" because everyone makes fun of me and says these all sound exactly the same :(
In general, I say 'I' more like a light 'Ah', I say 'for' like 'fer', my 't's sound like 'd's (but don't everyones?), I slur my words together, I say y'all and ain't, and I drop the g in '-ing', I do not say "fixin to", though my dad in law does. This passage does not showcase any of those things :P
So "I was a bit nervous posting my accent" would be more like "Ah wazzabid nervous 'boud postin' mah accent." Although not nearly so heavy.
Hey, why'd this thread die?
Well, I now have a ... 'batter' ... mic, so...
Accent. It's not very good.
I'm from Massachusetts USA. I pahk my cah in havahd yahd!
People have often commented on my accent as being "accentless".
Although that's technically impossible, I'm still really happy about this, because I find the average dutch-english absolutely disgusting.
(Here's an example of a dutch accent:

A lot of dutch people have issues with pronouncing TH. Next time you meet a dutch person ask them to say 33 and try not to laugh at them.
And then there's my accent:

I tend to ramble a lot and I think my voice is still a tad high-pitched, but I'm working on that.
I looove hearing other people's accents! So many links are dead, though. :undecided:
I don't particularly like my voice, but if it will encourage more people to post (or re-post) their amazing foreign accents here, then this will totally be worth it! :D
So, here we have it - my Australian accent:
Dreamer's Accent
Oh, and if I was actually speaking Australian, I would say kilometres, not miles. ;)
Here is mine :)

Eeeeee Percy, I have always loved your accent! I will have to listen to your guided meditation again soon. :meditate:
I never knew about the Dream Views Favorites section until very recently. Definitely a good idea. My computer doesn't have a mic, nor do the speakers work at all, which is lame, I know. I don't think I have an accent, but a good number of people think I have a Canadian accent. I grew up in a small town, 30 miles from Canada, and even my english professor (who is Canadian) was completely convinced that I was Canadian as well. I couldn't get her to believe I wasn't.
In case you've never heard a Canadian accent, it's basically like a standard American movie accent, but with the speaker's face so cold, that their lips don't move freely. I know this because when I'm out in the cold that long, I sound extra Canadian. On a related note, many Canadian town names are easy for me to say when my face is frozen, whereas most other words are difficult. I spend too much time outside in the cold...
My phone is quite the dinosaur, and doesn't have much for voice recording. I'm thinking maybe there's a way to set up a google voice account, and leave myself a message, then upload it from there. I just wouldn't be able to test it on my computer without a sound card.
Australian accents are the best of all the accents I've heard. Plus, they're easy for me to understand :) The last time I went to England, I had to keep asking people to repeat themselves. I felt terrible that I couldn't understand them the first time, but I don't think I offended anyone. After a few days, I got dialed into it, and could understand people better.
Here it is, hope you like it
