Just be prepared. You'll see exactly what I mean. ;)

Every American I speak to on Xbox live goes "Hey! You're British!" as if Britain was just a myth.
And all the Americans here who like Brit accents, you'll change your mind once you go to Yorkshire.
hia
By special request, a second one:
I love you in a plutonic way.
Tell me if this works.
Do I sound Canadian to you?
Yeah, that worked. (Fun to hear your voice.)
You sounded kind of....well...American (except for that last bit, of course :D ). I'll have to listen again to see if I notice any differences. :PQuote:

"Honed".... :chuckle:
I thought it was time to put a voice to my text! :DQuote:
Yeah, that worked. (Fun to hear your voice.)[/b]
Baha, American. That's funny, cause everyone I know talks like I do. No eh's, aboots, or beavers. Do your worst. ;)Quote:

I've heard so many variations it's wild!Quote:

Oh, and please note that I'm attempting the sly, fake drama voice - I don't actually talk like someone from South Park.
Yeah, I just figured you were having fun. You did a great job.Quote:

I read it through a couple of times to see how I might sound if I decided to post my voice. I sounded like I was reading to preschoolers (which I have had a lot of practice with over the years...lol).
To be honest I haven't known too many Canadians. Not enough to really pick up on the differences. The one I was really good friends with in college was from Montreal--and he had a completely different accent altogether. :PQuote:

Well, here's what I sound like. I chose to read an excerpt from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel, Mort, instead of the Harry Potter excerpt, for my own reasons. You should be able to detect a slight Southern accent.
Excerpt I used:
The only thing known to go faster than ordinary light is monarchy, according to the philosopher Ly Tin Weedle. He reasoned like this: you can't have more than one king, and tradition demands that there is no gap between kings, so when a king dies the succession must therefore pass to the heir instantaneously. Presumably, he said, there must be some elementary particles -- kingons, or possibly queons -- that do this job, but of course succession sometimes fails if, in mid-flight, they strike an anti-particle, or republicon. His ambitious plans to use his discovery to send messages, involving the careful torturing of a small king in order to modulate the signal, were never fully expanded because, at that point, the bar closed. -- Terry Pratchett (Mort)
My sound clip: Man of Steel's accent
Here's my 1:30am voice.
Woot! Terry pratchett! Not uploading cuz of my dialup, but the reason that most people think that their recorded voices sound different is because when you talk normally, a fair bit of sound reaches your ears through the mass of your head, because solids are a better conductor of noise than gases. Neal's usless fact for the day.
I only listen to the ones I don't have to specially download...
Nice, Beef Jerky! :D Cool accent.
Aw, Burns - mine has something in it just for you. :P
ManofSteel, yep: definitely Southern. :D
It's over 500 KBs, so it can't be uploaded. :(
CoLd BlooDed, I figured out I didn't actually have to download it - I just clicked on the Lo-Fi link and it played! :D You guys and your technical shit... http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ons/tongue.gif
Anyway, LOVE the ending! I LOLed. But no, I can't say I hear much of the Canadian accent in there... That was good and entertaining though - well done! :bravo:
Okay, so I recorded my accent using my phone's voice recorder, right, but I can't send it from my phone to the computer. So.. another wait while I either 1) actually go out and buy a mic, or 2) get the services to send multimedia messages from my cell.
Fun, fun, fun.
Haha, my bad, I totally forgot you could do that. Good thing you figured it out. :DQuote:

Haha, you mean there's not much of a stereotypical Canadian accent in there. This is really how everyone from BC talks. :PQuote:

But thanks for listening. :D
CoLd BlooDed's accent is also my own[Being a BC boy an all], I was going to post a submission but my mic died a few days ago.
Here's mine, enjoy :content:
