I also like that the hair is a little bit of both worlds. I love wet hair because, while it's raw and untended to, it also always has that elegant look to it.

Definitely a great pic, though. It's as if DeMonica - in all her battle-hardened masculinity - threw on a dress (I'm pretty sure that's a shirt? It immediately screams 'little black dress' to me, though! Lol), in order to show that she can still be one of the girls...just don't piss her off. Lol.
Thank you. I don't even know what else to respond to such a flattering post.

Thanks, and I do like my hair there. I just don't like it when it's dry.

Well, the donation part was an after thought, so I didn't feel wasteful about losing all that hair. I really wanted to do it because I was sick of my heavy hair weighing me down, having to manage it and all that, and it also somehow weighed me down emotionally, so I just really wanted a change. I wanted to know what it feels like being bald. It's great. Extremely liberating. It's also becoming somewhat less of a social stigma for women, which is also great. I've still gotten "chemo" and "alien" comments from my family though.

So no, I didn't do anything to myself, I did it FOR myself.

Obviously I'm a male, but I know of the liberating effect after applying a mach 3 razor to one's head. I felt more 'present'. Though, my hair continuously alternates between shaved and...long: call it laziness.

I can sympathize. Thursday night I was at a holiday party with some of my more domesticated friends and some of their parents, most of whom I don't see very often, and was getting compliments left and right about my beard.

I went home and cut it off. It wasn't so much about the compliments, but I just felt like the beard was something coming between me and the world, like a mask, and I felt more wild with it in a way that I was starting not to like. So, in spite of popular opinion, off it goes (sorry, Tara).

      Do what ya gotta do.

Wow, the new year is bringing in some big hair-related changes around here!! I think I need to do the same (as Taosaur, not so much Deery ). Im getting a bit tired of the wildman hippy look so I think I'm gonna trim up the chin bush and cut back the long locks a bit. A shiny new me for the new year. This is going to be a rough time for Tara - let's give her all the support and understanding she needs...

I've thoughts of shaving bald too.

But I'll probably only do that if I've decided to stay at a temple. Was having thoughts of staying at a temple for 3 months and living a life as a nun, then I'll dress exactly how they dress.

And I do feel that hair is like an extra burden on me.

Do you like use hair conditioner on it? I realise my hair gets terribly out of shape the moment it gets slightly longer.

Yeah, I'm letting it grow out. I'm even taking a picture of myself every day to document the progress. Last night I dreamt that I ALREADY had fairly long short hair, which freaked me out a bit.

Right now I'm unemployed, but I'm an animator, so my future employers will be more likely to understand than if I was an accountant or something. I have an animator friend who died his shoulder length hair a bright teal color, and he still gets work. Creatives FTW!

I use a regular conditioner in the shower. After it's dry, I apply a small amount of grape seed oil to keep it tame.
