Looking forward to meeting and learning from my fellow students on MILD-1 with PercyLucid.
I really enjoyed the class last night - thankyou Prof. Percy.
After class did a few RC's and went to bed. I repeated mantra "Next time I am dreaming I will remember to recognize that I am dreaming" and then visualized becoming lucid in a dream and then more mantra. My mind wandered a couple of times but I am pretty sure I went to sleep with the mantra foremost in my mind. Problem is that I kept waking up for real most times when I started dreaming and therefore had little opportunity to become lucid.
I had a semi-lucid where I kind of felt like I was partially awake. I was in my house and was in the hallway outside my bedroom and did some reality checks. Tried to look at my hands but could not at first but eventually saw one hand and it looked like I had three very thick fingers and one short one. I tried to put my finger through my hand and it was very soft and pliable. The reason I did not think I was actually lucid is because I did not have a lot of clarity and the atmosphere seemed dull. I did ask for more clarity and vividness but did not get it. The whole time I felt like I knew I was in my bed and when I woke up properly I felt that it must have just been my own auto suggestion.
I will post dreams in DJ.
Good job StephieV!!! That was indeed a lucid dream! Having low clarity does not mean becoming or not lucid, but looking at your hands and realized it was a dream is enough.
Well done on your first MILD :D
Hi PercyLucid,
Wow - I am so happy - thanks for the feedback. Tonight I will fly!
During the day yesterday, I RC'd as much as possible. I meditated on my cushion for about 15 minutes in the evening using the mantra "I will Lucid Dream". Surfed around DV during the evening and then read some Robert Waggoner. Reading the book for the second time.
Did relaxation in bed and self hypnosis with the suggestion "I will lucid dream tonight". Said an abreviated mantra "I dream lucid" and visualized becoming lucid in a past dream.
My dream recall was horrible last night. I wrote down a few things when I woke up in the night but it is illegible. I was very tired in the middle of the night.
This morning when half awake, I saw bright white light in my mind. I decided to move myself toward the light and it expanded to fill my whole consciousness - it was an incredibly relaxing feeling. I believe I was resting in my base awareness. I can't wait to be fully lucid so that I can ask questions of my base.
I think I will go back to my full mantra of "next time I am dreaming I will remember to recognize that I am dreaming" as the shortened version was not successful.
Anyway, I am not disheartened as I know I am making progress and will become fully lucid very soon.
The shortened version is the best one, but do reduce the aggressive of your goal. Say, "I will lucid dream tonight or very soon"
Keep working on the mantra for at least 15 days. One attempt is way not enough to give up on the mantra. Short mantras are easier and work faster, trust me!
Good job on those meditations!
Did many RC's yesterday. Added Stephen LeBarge technique of trying to notice 4 different things each day plus other RC's whenever I remember or see something odd. Did not have time to meditate. Before bed read a lot about lucid dreaming. When I got to bed, did my long mantra as had not seen Prof. Percy's recommendation to persevere and keep using short version. Did hypnosis and visualization. Had a very restless night and recalled a very short dream. Could not get back to sleep so did a WILD and went into SP but for some reason whenever I go into SP I get mega hot. I messed up my SP as I had to move to throw the covers off me. The heat problem could be to do with the fact that I live in Miami and right now the weather is ridiculously hot and my AC does not seem to be able to cope with it. I then had quite a long dream in the early hours of the morning and have posted in my DJ. Tonight I will say mantra "I will lucid dream tonight or very soon".
Did RC's as much as possible yesterday and meditated in the afternoon using mantra "I will lucid dream tonight". Before sleep did relaxation, self hypnosis (that I would lucid dream tonight and wake up during each dream period and recall my dreams). Repeated short mantra "I will lucid dream tonight or very soon" and visualized seeing a dream sign and becoming lucid.
Was exhausted last night and slept very heavily and had zero recall this morning. Got up at 7:30 and fed my cats and played with them for about 20 minutes and then a WBTB. I could not fall back asleep using MILD so decided to try a WILD. I definitely went into SP and did RC's which failed so I was dreaming although very shallow. Had a few disjointed storylines going and a couple of lucid fragments of a dog on my cats condo and four black cats walking in a line in my bedroom. Next time I looked at my clock it was 10:20am. I got up. It wasn't excactly mind blowing but I think it was good practice.
HHmm someone beat me to a lucid during this course. DARN.
GOODJOB :)
Mainly semi-lucid actually Dakotahnok - I don't know if I can count 2 lucid fragment flashes but thanks for the encouragement!
No problem!
Awesome job StephieV!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on your lucid! Maybe it was not awesome as you said, but as I always say, "The more lucids you have the more you will get!"
How about meditation? Keep us posted please!
Hi Professor Percy,
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am somewhat frustrated after 2 nights of no dream recall. I went to bed early and did my body relaxation and meditated using mantra "I will lucid dream tonight". Did more mantras "I will wake up during each dream perod and recall my dreams" and "I will lucid dream tonight or very soon". Visualized becoming lucid in a dream and tried to invoke more detail and clarity into the visualization. Woke up at 2.25am, 4.30am and finally 7.00am with no dream recall. Forgot to not move on waking every time.
During the day yesterday I did RC's and asked myself questions to be sure I was awake and asked myself how I know I am not dreaming. Really trying to get this stuff into my head so that it will carry over into my dreams. Spent quite a lot of time on DV website reading various members experiences.
I have a feeling that I may have recognized a couple of dream signs but if I turned lucid I don't remember it. I know I really need to get better at remembering my dreams and any advice on this would be appreciated. Before going to bed I was reading through a lot of DV information that I printed out about different techniques including MILD. Even when I recall my dreams, they are not very long and I do not seem to have anywhere near as much detail as most of my MILD-1 group. I really need to get better as this as I know it is the key.
Do not worry. For some people that is a reality. You focus too much on something you are not use too and you decrease recall. That happened to me when I started with Astral Projection. Your recall will come back, do not worry.
Hi Prof,
Did reality checks as usual and went to meditation class last night - I go every Monday at local Zen Temple.
I did my usual bedtime stuff last night, relaxation, meditation, hypnosis and dream visualization. As I went to sleep I kept repeating "I dream lucid". You were right about shortening the mantra at night as it felt much stronger in my mind than the longer versions. As far as I know I was not lucid but I did manage to break my streak of no dream recall with a nice long dream and a couple of short ones:happyface: You were even in the long dream!
I woke up at my usual times 2:30, 4:30 (with a major headache - took tylenol) and 6:00am. The long dream was at 6:00am and the shorter ones around 7:00am. I wrote notes on each awakening. I had kind of a false awakening as I dreamed that my alarm had gone off and actually woke up to press the off button and saw that it had not gone off yet. Did reality check just in case and was definitely awake! I went back to sleep in the hope of a lucid and dreamed that my doorbell rang, and then that someone was knocking on the door twice.
Still had a slight headache when I got up but felt much better about my recall.
I have a strong feeling that a MILD lucid is imminent - looking forward to tomorrow nights class!

Did RC's as much as possible during the day. In bed did relaxation, hypnosis and meditation. Went very deep with meditation using "I dream lucid" mantra. Went so deep that I was thrown into SP and felt that I was suspended above my body and my head started to feel weird. I saw lots of HI's but then came back to full consciousness. I then did visualization from the dream of the night before and tried to make it more vivid and visualized going lucid. I hopefully fell asleep saying "I dream lucid". I think that if I knew how to properly transition into dream that I might be good at WILD as I find it relatively easy to stay conscious with my body in SP.
Unfortunantely, I seem to be a yo-yo dream recaller and have failed to recall anything. I was once again awoken my alarm a few minutes before it actually went off. I can't really call this a false awakening as it wakes me up for real. I must try to reality check any alarms in my dreams.
Really looking forward to tonights class. I hope my computer doesn't go down as I have been having some intermittent problems due to bad weather in my area. Will keep positive and see everyone tonight.
So yesterday not such a great day for me. Had a crazy busy day and had not had a chance to check my messages before coming to class. Then my server was down so was freaking out. When it finally came back on, I got in the general chat but could not get in the class as having not checked my messages, I did not know about the change of password. Fortunately, my guardian angel Zebrah appeared from nowhere and magically got me in the classroom. Without her I would never have gotten in. Dreamers are wonderful people!
Anyway, it was about 11:15 when I got to bed (late for me). I was still all wound up from class and everything that transpired. Tried to dump it all in my chest but it kept coming back so my mind did not stay on my visualization as well as I would have liked. The only dream recall I have apart from tiny fragments is when I woke up at about 3:30am and had dreamed that I was on the on line class but instead of the chat we were doing it on the workbook page. Another time when I woke up, I seemed to recall a dog but could not work it back to anything more substantial.
I read through the whole log and everything now makes a lot more sense to me. I am going to start working on my incubating for tonights flying over the forest and will have a much more successful night to report tomorrow. Percy, the class was awesome and your hard work is much appreciated. :)
Started my dream incubation yesterday afternoon. My visualization seemed very clear with the sounds of the forest, strong visuals of the trees, how the ground felt under my feet and many other details. When I flew I was engaging my body as I flew up, around and through the trees. I visualized doing an RC by looking at my hands and becoming lucid. I did this visualization a number of times and felt the excitement of becoming lucid. Also daydreamed it.
In the evening I did a 15 minutes meditation focusing on my visualization and nothing else. I was very confident that I would dream my visualization. I went to bed at about 10:00pm and after relaxation and a short period of time of meditation on my mantra "I dream lucid". I did my forest visualization for what seemed like a long time. I woke up at 1:30 and remembered a dream fragment not connected with my visualization. Went back to sleep using visualization again and woke up another couple of times and did the same thing. Had dream recall this morning of a rather long dream but had not dreamed my visualization. I still have it extremely clearly in my mind from beginning to end and will dream it lucidly tonight!

Visualized many times forest flying yesterday and last night in bed. I was feeling really good and positive about dreaming it. Had a fragment flash of a house (could have been lucid or could be HI). Went to sleep and was woken up by an incident beyond my control at about 1.30am. Could not get back to sleep after that as I was feeling very edgy and unsettled. I just lay in bed doing my visualization over and over. I think I fell asleep at about 4:30am but had no dream recall this morning. I am going to meditate now. My quest continues.
Where are you Percy - any advice! :?
I have trouble falling asleep as well.During school I fall asleep much faster but not on vacation.I started lucid dreaming in late May when I had no trouble falling asleep.I used to set my alarm at 4 am and HI formed immediately very vivid ones in no time. Now it's hard to do that because I'm not tired enough. They are also excellent opportunities for WILD.
Also sometimes(rarely but it does happen) I can't fall asleep although I'm very tired. It's so bad that the only reason I realize I slept was because would remember some dreams
I'm here and here!!! So sorry!!! I am sorry for my delay, I have been reading your workbooks but I've been insanely busy!!
Thank you very much for the compliments!!! I just do my best :)
Do not get frustrated when recall fails and visualization "does not" work. It won't work for one night, but you are putting a lot in your subconscious when you are doing this on a daily basis. When you are heading for a goal, you will need an everyday work like you are doing. Sooner or later you will turn lucid... 100%... it's maths and maths never lie. All the hard work these days is accumulating :)
Putting all the stuff in the chest is hard... you need a lot of patience. If you have a loooooooooot going on during waking, big changes like I said over class, its nearly impossible. If you have big stuff going on (like me with my new business stuff) you subconscious needs to eat it all before you can put it in your chest. Even though you think you failed, you did not. You probably ended up thinking only one thing (maybe not the forest) but one thing on waking. Do not stress out about the chest. Do it nightly, and if something comes out from the chest, put it back it. At the beginning, that thing will even come out through the keyhole, but it will end up being locked up, for sure.
Hi Andra,
I was an insomniac for many years. Even used to take sleeping pills (not a good idea). I decided a couple of years ago that I would tough it out and went cold turkey on the pills - it was terribly difficult, so never go that route. I have not taken anything since and most of the time I sleep okay except that I wake up at least 3 or 4 times a night and go back to sleep - not a bad thing for LD though. I have found that the best thing is to always stick to a routine of going to bed and getting up at more or less the same time every day - even on weekends and vacation. It really helps as it keeps your body clock in check. I know exactly what you mean about not being aware that you have slept at all - I call it twilight sleep.
Usually, if you are very tired when you go to bed and still can't sleep, it is because you have something on your mind. For that I suggest the PercyLucid approach of putting the problems in an imaginary chest next to your bed.
Anyway Andra, try sticking to the routine of the same bedtime and waking time and I bet it will work for you. Stephie
I did lots of visualization yesterday and RC's. Meditated in the afternoon. Usual bedtime routine with special emphasis on flying in the forest. My dream recall was pretty good, all from last REM period of the night. Tried to go back to sleep as I so wanted to fly in the forest but I find it very difficult to fall back to sleep in the morning so no luck. Dreams 3 Forest Flying 0
Percy - your encouragement that it is 100% mathematically certain I will eventually turn lucid really helps and keeps my excitement level up.
Did RC's and as many visualizations of the task as I could yesterday. Went to my meditation class last night and had a really deep meditation on my "fly through the forest" incubation task.
Did my usual bedtime rituals and woke up at about 1:30am and recalled three different dream fragments. I had another dream in my very last REM period:
PINE CONES
My husband and I are driving home. We live on a very narrow tree lined street. He stops to move something from out of the road. While he is out of the car, I notice a big tree above the car spanning the width of the road. I see lots of pine cones on the tree and ask my husband to get me one from the tree as I want to smell it in order to help me with engaging my senses for my visualization of my "flying over a forest" task. He hands me a pine cone but it has no smell.
Note: This morning I could not believe that I had missed the opportunity to realize I am dreaming and become lucid.:bang:
Twice last night I dreamed that I was aware that I was dreaming. I tried both times to look at my hands but they would not appear. I felt frustrated in the dream. So Close!
Recalled one dream in last REM period. (Posted in DJ)
Once again no luck on the "flying over a forest" task.:(
