INTRO/DC-1 Marlowe's Notebook

This is my notebook/dream journal that I will be using to keep during the INTRO/DC-1 Class hosted by Serenity.

Since I had a shocking episode of SP right as I hit my bed last night and couldn't go back to sleep effectively afterwards (didn't recall any full dreams - just fragments) I'll post a lucid dream I had one night before.

I went to sleep at 10:45. Woke up at about 3:15. Attempted a MILD. No results except a small fragment. Woke up at 7:00. Initiated a WBTB MILD.
I was in a dream at my school. I started off in third person with it switching to first person at certain scenes. I believe I 'morphed' (the term I use when switching from third person to first) into Buttercamp from the Power Puff Girls at one point (:lol:). I was at my school. The Professor (also from the show) had problems seeing the moon, and it looked like he was staying outside 24/7 until he could see it.

It appeared like time fast-forwarded so that I could see the moon rise and fall on the horizon and change phases. I got drowsy watching.

At this point, a lot of people were at the school. They were all earing black suits except for one man. He handed my a candy cane. I looked up at the sky and saw two moons (DREAMSIGN :boogie:). I became lucid.

I walked down the parking lot and saw my friend John. I asked him where I could find my ex. He said the lower most stairwell. So I entered my school on a quest to find her. It was made out of bricks and the layout was way different.

I saw my principal and at some point, I asked DC where the lower staircase was (I was dead lost at the dream school :O). She directed me over to a window. I looked at the window and I saw a whole bunch of trees swaying in the wind. The quality and vividness of the tress may 3x more than real life and I was awed by it. The DC told me to place myself behind the window's curtains and lie down.

I complied. I felt myself sinking down. At first I couldn't see, and it felt like I was in water. I started trying to swim, and I felt myself rotating. Then I regained my vision, and was granted sight of what looked like the Aurora Borealis underwater. I heard my DC friend John speak, and he said the images I was seeing were HH.

I then "sunk" to the lower level of the school in which I tried to summon her there by opening a door. No success.

Assignment: Go through your dream journal and analyse where the content of your dreams comes from. Is it mostly day residue? Do you notice a lot of false memories or faulty logic in them?

Looking back at my dream journal, a lot, and I mean A LOT, of stuff was day residue. For example, one day in my dream I ate shrimp, and I ate shrimp for dinner that day.
As another example from my previous lucid dream post, I had visited my school that day to get my schedule changed and sure enough, the setting of the dream took place at school.

Although I was lucid, I can't imagine how lying under a window's curtains can allow me to go down to a lower level of a building :lol:

Non-Lucid Dream (8-18-2010)

(From the Boondocks) Riley, Gramps, and Huey were playing some submarine game (but they were actually in the game). The objective was to get as many kills as possible in the time limit, or collect the 3 tokens hidden around the world's oceans. The could fire heat seeking missiles at each other from the air or underwater (they could jump out of the water with their submarines haha). They could also barrel roll and jump in the air to try to avoid the missiles fired at them.

It seemed like an EXTREMELY fun game, I would have liked to play it if I was lucid :(

Sheesh, I wrote down the assignment and my dreams in my regular DG but not here O.o

Oh well...here I go:

Assignment: Go through your dream journal and see if you can notice any reoccurring signs that are popping up. Make a list!
Bonus marks: Find out which sign occurs the most and incorporate reality checking to the sign into your daily routine.


Here are all the DS I found:
1. Two Moons in the Sky (or a Moon + Saturn)
2. I false Awakening
3. Day Residue - Especially food
4. Anime Characters
5. School

And of course, the most common ones are the Two Moons in the Sky and a FA. So, to increase recall, everytime I see the moon in the sky, or even a picture of it, I'll do a reality check. Every time I wake up from bed or a nap, the first thing I do is a RC. I'm getting into a habit of doing these things subconsciously now...

Had no dream recall except for a few wandering thoughts. I tried to focus on them to see if I could recall anything else but no success.

8/21/10

I recalled a large amount of dreams...and I HAD MY FIRST WILD! :boogie:\

Dream 1
My friend spent the night at my house. I recalled my parents coming in and telling us to watch more appropriate shows (they came in when we were watching an uncensored episode of South Park :P). The scene shifts to my school and another friend is offering relationship advice and offers to get me back together with my ex...(LOOONG STORY, but this is definitely day residue). Then something about my friend Grace crying because someone hit her in some game..

Dream 2 - WILD
I woke up from Dream 1 and went to the bathroom. Came back, and settled back in bed. I remained very relaxed and still until SP came. My vision lit up with bursts of light for a while and then the vibrations came. Before hand, I repeated a couple of mantras to myself saying that I would not get excited when the vibrations came - and it worked. When the vibrations stopped, I kind of felt a shift of...awareness? It's difficult to describe. But then a voice (Familiar?) told me to get up now, so I did. I then stabilized, even though I thought I didn't need to.
I got out of bed and attempted to scene transition, but I failed. I went outside and it was wet with melting snow. I pinched my nose to confirm I was really in a dream (it was so realistic) and it proved false. I then counted my fingers for the supplementary RC and it proved I was still in a dream.

I then attempted to fly (The Voice from before (By Dream Guide? :D)) tried to give me instructions on how to, and I did levitate a little, but overall, I failed as usual :(. I lost lucidity at this point.
I went inside my car and there were people inside playing guitar. I then joined them improvising. At some point I felt myself becoming lucid again and I wanted to really let the dream control me and jam out, but I woke up at this point.

Dream 3
I was at a soccer game and my coach called. My friend and I then went to the locker room and there were girls there, but apparently they didn't want us there (why wasn't I lucid here? :( ).


[SCENE TRANSITION]
I was at my house and James (from Pokemon lmao) had an eye piece that allowed him to hack video games. He demonstrated this skill to my friend and his dad. My friend's father then inquired about the apparent sleepover I was going to have and James's eye piece. I looked out the window and say my dog trying to leave the yard but I stopped him. Then a got a text from Crowley (from the anime D.Gray Man) was coming to the sleepover. There was then something about how James gotthe eyepiece and a huge fight...

Recalled 2 dreams (Or maybe 1 disconnected one) and the most epic lucid dream thus far! It's a must read, with lost of symbolism I won't post here :O

There was a LOT of dream before this part, but I vaguely recall listening to music from my I-pod with my new ear buds...

I got of the plane and my parents and I got into our car. It was a dreary, misty, morning and we were driving through England (go figure lol). I actually asked if we were in Japan because I was going to a Physics camp there, complemented by the fact I saw Japanese symbols hanging from buildings and saw Japanese architecture. My father replied no, and that we were flying to Japan.
So we drove up to the London Bridge to cross it. London now looked dismal and in complete destruction. It looked like the picture below but it was morning time:

The actual London bridge looked burned and in no condition to support a vehicle, and yet we proceeded to cross it.

I then switched to an omniscient perspective, and a voice (I swear it was the voice that helped me get my first WILD) was talking. It was like watching a HD movie..
The "view" went underwater, and I was shown a scene with hundreds of dead bodies stacked up at the bottom of the river. They were rotted and grey, and some fish were feasting upon them. Yet it seemed like when some of the fish were eating, they themselves lost some of their flesh and died, but yet some lost their flesh and became undead fish.
The "view" then went up to the underside of the scorched London Bridge, and "I" scratched (without hands or any body part) an evil-ish looking smiley face on it. The view then panned out a little, and I could see the dead people from the river surfacing. As they got out of the water, a green halo surrounded them and their flesh started to come back to their bodies. At the same time, I could see my family's car starting to cross the bridge.
The dead people started to rebuild the bridge. The reconstruction was just enough to let the car pass safely through. Once we passed, the dead settled back into the bottom of the lake. I then was shown a picture of the smiley face I sketched on the London Bridge...

We finally arrived at the airport. My father and I entered, and we soon found our gate. The flight attendant stopped my from boarding, and he was questioning me about some illegal stuff I was allegedly doing. Smartly, I retorted that I was involved in no such activities. Then my friend Lane came up from no where and "bragged" to the flight attendant illegal stuff that we had done (which we haven't) (A little background, my friend Lane is notorious into getting into trouble and saying stuff that he shouldn't at times).
The flight attendant said he was going to have to trigger the alarm, and pulled a red lever. A loud medium-pitched sound was emitted, and several security personnel emerged. They took me and hauled me away in the direction I came from. I verbally resisted them. Something happened (it was either my father or someone else who did it) and the security guys' attention was directed towards something else, and they left me in a rush. Someone told me I had to rush to my flight now, as only 5 more people were allowed on the flight, and there was a crowd rushing towards the plane.
I got the last seat on the plane, but my father didn't get one. Just as the plane door was about to shut, as saw him outside and he tossed me something in a plastic bag. It was my I-pod and my ghetto headphones (A little more background, these were some SONY headphones that my mother had stopped on and broken the head connector to the two speakers, but I had duct-taped them back together. My friends called them ghetto so the name stuck). Since he probably couldn't hear me shout over the roar of the plane engine, I tugged on my shirt and made a shrug. I had no clothes or supplies, all I had was the package he game me. He shrugged as well and the plane took off. It was a sad moment.

I was then at my house, and I was back from the Physics camp in Japan. I made small talk to my parents about it. Ben (from The Secret Life of the American Teenager :lol:) was texting Adrien (A character also from that show). I oversaw his text; he was going to say 'hola' to her but I said change it to 'konichiwa' (Please mind my spelling :P). Lunch was then served. I forgot what we were eating but I had a few fries left. My father and something else was sitting by the window on high stools eating. Sampson (my dog and minor dream sign) nudged a chair beside them, and attempted to jump on the stool. His efforts proved futile however. Feeling sorry for him, I moved over on my seat so he could sit beside me. He seized the opportunity and came bounding towards me. Once he sat down, he attempted to eat some of my fries. I strictly told me a 'no-no' but I snuck a fry to him here and there. My mother gave me a 'Why the heck is that dog on my kitchen chair' kind of look, but I responded that I was training him. Surprisingly, it worked (that would NEVER happen in real life :P).

I asked my parents where Ben had gone to, and my father said he had gone under the house. I then went under the house and searched for Ben. I was careful not to run into any spider webs (There are black widows under my house). About to give up and exit, I heard Ben's voice say "If there were two monkeys trying to get a girl monkey, and one monkey had the bigger dick, which one would get the girl monkey?" (O_O) - Was my literal expression in response to this question. I then ran into some web with a bony hand in it and then fell outside. I got drowsy. Ben, Adrien, and Jack (all characters from that show) were laying beside me. We then fell asleep. It feel like we were transitioning from SP to a dream by levitating, as our bodies (our Dream-Dream bodies, A dream within a dream?) levitated off the ground. I immediately knew I was in a lucid from there (didn't need to RC or stabilize) and I FLEW FOR THE FIRST TIME! :boogie:

I won't go into the details, but I flew around for a LONG time. I landed and then looked at the sky. Mars, Venus, and a distorted square Earth-shaped look-a-like was in the sky, and they were big and vivid. I had an idea...so I flew high into the air, let myself drop down onto my trampoline, and then attempted to 'Fly at light speed' towards Venus when I hit the trampoline. As usual, my attempts to fly to a planet where futile and made me loose like 40% lucidity.
I met back with the characters from the show and we talked if whether we were having a shared dream or not. We decided we needed a sign that if all of us could recall and share in the real life, we would know we were actually shared dreaming. Adrien pointing out that she had found a sign, and pointed into my father's white truck. Inside, Ricky (from the show also) and another guy (Both of them were missing most of their legs) were naked inside and having sex (>.<). I will not go into details, and thank God I was lucid enough to end my dream there.


I had another dream, but I don't feel like posting it right now :P

Flight... Fantastic!!! =D

I have tried flying into space and my attempts have been futile as well, I do like your Trampoline idea though!

Hoping I will have more luck since I have learned how to fly through walls (Indicating that my imagination/expectation is somewhat more prepared for sudden changes in settings). Might try opening a hyperspace window (Like stargate) and just expect it to be another wall, with the moon on the other side to try and utilise my new power ^^
