SD Class Announcements

This thread is for announcement and updates by Raven and I, so everyone can just look in one place, instead of searching for a buried post in another thread.

Student Workbooks

1) Please everyone go to Student Workbooks, and create a Workbook thread for yourself. Please post your DJ here (and of course you may cross-post from your regular DJ.)

In this workbook, write something every day starting... now. If you do not remember your dreams, write down your recall attempt.

Also, please make notes about anything else dreaming related, lucidity attempts, thoughts, et cetera.

Purpose:

The purpose of this is so we can all read each others' DJ's at a glance, instead of going to the DJ blogs and sifting through so many DJ's trying to remember who is in the class.

Another reason is so Raven and I can see all your DJ's at once. It will be physically impossible to read everyone's DJ every day, because there are so many people in the class, but we will do our best.

Reading others' DJ's will increase chances of shared dreaming, so please read other students' DJ's as much as possible.

So could I put down my WILD attempts too?

Most likely. As long as you post your actual dreams too.

That's right. :) Assuming we stick to the syllabus, there will be one set of lecture material every two weeks until the end of the class.

Every week there's a Skype chat, like an online conference. I'm not sure about timezone either, you would have to ask Nomad.

Central time is five hours ahead of Hawaii standard time. Hawaii time is GMT-10. If anyone's confused about times, just google "current time in Hawaii" and determine how many hours remain until the chat based on that.

I probably won't be able to make most of the chats, and I need some more info on it because I've never really heard about it (sorry for the stubbornness)

Skype is a video/voice call program you can use over the internet. Search for it on any search engine, and their website should come up as the first result. Basically, people can "call" you with your Skype username when you're signed in. The chats are calls between several people. You get so many minutes of call time free (I don't remember exactly what the limit is, but if you're just using Skype for this, I don't think you'll have any problems, lol). :) Hopefully that answers most of your questions about it, but let us know if there's anything else.

I work into the evenings, so I guess I won't be able to make any of the chats. Anyone can drop me a PM if they want to get in contact with me.

Same here. I'm usually busy in the evenings; so I probably won't be able to come to any. (Even if I did have time to, my parents wouldn't let me lol)

Raven and I forgot your Lucidity Class assignment, though it's implied in the lectures.

1) Practice Lucid Living.

2) Try to WILD every time you sleep.

3) Experiment with different techniques.

Recall is the most important dream skill.

Lucidity is the second. These are the foundations for all dreaming therefore we are taking four weeks on these two topics.

I have been reading as many DJ's as I can, though I don't have time to comment. Great job remembering your dreams, everyone. Please try to write them in as much detail as time allows for, even if you don't like the dream.

This will strengthen your recall.

Thanks! I try to attempt WILDing anytime I wake up naturally in the middle of the night. I also attempt it when I nap, so this should keep me on track.

Wasn't yesterday the day for the next lesson about dream control?

When are we going to do the next Skype call? We havn't had one in a month.

Change of plans:

We are taking a pause in the Shared Dreaming class.

For the entire month of December, everyone in the shared dreaming class: go to the Great Pyramids. Try to go to the Great Pyramid every night in order to dream share.

The reason Raven and I have decided to do this, is we realized that you need less knowledge and more experience. It has been bothering me for awhile, but I just didn't know what it was. I felt I had to stick to the syllabus we laid out, but now is the time to alter the course.

I will be there every night for the rest of the month, waiting with my black Moon Dragons with crescent moons on their foreheads. If you see a dragon, get on its back, and ride it to the Moon.

The main thing is to get to the Pyramids. Look at pictures of the Pyramids to incubate the dream. Think about Egypt during the day. Read books about the Pyramids, and watch movies or play games with the Pyramids in them. After you focus on the pyramids, you can focus on Raven or I, or another dreamer.

Shared Dreaming Partner/target

When you are focusing on dreaming with a specific person, read their dream journal as much as you can. Do not read their DJ until you have written in your DJ for the day. Pick someone who dreams are cool to you.

Think about that person and their energy right before you fall asleep.

Anyway, I hope everyone understands why we are breaking protocol here for awhile. I don't want to overload you with information that is beyond your experience. So, I want to lead you to dream share by doing it with you. Please read my DJ as much as you can, and I will read all of yours. If I "thank" you for a DJ entry, that means I read it, by the way. I just don't have time to comment on everyone's awesome DJ's, nor do I have time to read them all, but I do as much as I humanly can!

Oh yea, also.. I don't write in my DJ anymore here. But I still have some dreams on there for others to read. Is that okay? (I write in an offline DJ now)

It's much less work than you think. I don't know the name of the method I use, but mainly I ponder the idea that life is a dream, and that dream is life.

You should let others read your DJ if you want to share dreams with them. Also, part of the goal of this class is to have confirmed shared dreams. There is no way to confirm it unless both parties write their dreams down.

Don't be too focused on lucidity. Read others' DJ's. You will see lucidity is not necessary for Dream Control. These are two separate dream skills. Many people have non-lucid shared dreams.

We used to meet there every monday last year, well mostly between december last year and... may this year I think? Anyways, apparently I showed up a couple of times, in my Fierce Deity form.

WakingNomad, what is your plan for the class in the starting of the new year?
Will I get a "bad grade" for this class if I am working on WILDing and not on the present task?
For some reason in my DILDs I have terrible control so.. In my DILDs I usually stay in one place and do some stupid things. I don't have the best control/clarity as of yet.

I think we should make a new thread titled "SD Class: Pyramids" and there we can share ideas, thoughts, dreams?

Please post all your dreams online. Dreams do not have to be lucid to be shared dreams.

The normal syllabus will resume. There is no grade. Grades are pointless. This class is for YOU! WILD, DILD, do whatever you want.

Hey everyone. Raven and I have been really busy. She just graduated with a B.S. in Video Game Design. Yaay, Raven!

I am taking five art classes this semester trying to get into the Computer Animation progam.

Anyway, we are starting up class now.

For the rest of the class, Everyone pair up, and focus on dream sharing with that one person. Post your partnerships here. If you can't find a partner, please post that, and we'll help out. Focus on doing all the tasks with that partner.

Read their DJ every day.

Interestingly enough, my dreams have been moving more and more toward combat on their own. Battling my dream guide would be really cool... I'll try to accomplish at least that much. :) Even better if I end up in a shared dream fight!

Tera and I have been paired up since the start of the class, but her recall has taken a huge hit lately, so it's hard to confirm dreams with her as shared... :P I read many of my classmates' dream journals regularly anyway, so if anyone's missing a partner, I'm happy to fill the position.

Me and Andres have been working together from prety much the begining so ya. I really want to finght him in a lucid it would be great. I have been thinking that I might want to ask sun wukong to be my dream guide. He is really cool and I think he might be a good dg for me so I will try and find him and ask him and then I guess battle him.

I'd pair up with TheKing, but he isn't active as much. I'm up for a partner.

I was paired up with Syndey, but I don't know if she is still intersted since she hasn't posted anything in her SD journal or in SD posts recently. I'll check w/ her and if she isn't, I'll need a new partner :)

Fun Island (Non-lucid)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was with a big group of people in a yatch. We arrived at a beautiful island, blue water, white sand. We would be staying there for a couple of days. With me were Ariana, Lusho, Diego, and some girl I haven't met. Diego, Lusho and I swam to the shore, and sat on the sand. We were talking, chilling. We decided to have a Dragonball-Like battle, a threeway battle. We started flying and beating the crap out of one another. It was a lot like Dragon Ball Raging Blast. I started punching Lusho, throwing combinations at him, and then threw him flying, I followed him and punched him, 3 more times, then teleported behind him, sent him flying again with a kick, and then threw a Henkidama at him. We decided he had enough for the day, and he gave up. Diego and I then decided to stop fighting and rest as well. We played soccer in the shore, swam, drank and at the end of the day we went back to the yatch to sleep. Some people slept inside, others outside. The next morning I asked a girl who had slept outside if there were too many mosquitoes, she said none.

I woke up (False awakening), I found myself in a kind of school, a lot like the one I had dreamt about a long time ago, the one were everyone attending actually lived in the school. I was in an octagon-shaped room, in its walls there were mini-compartments (kinda looked like this |_| ), these compartments were distributed all over the walls of the room, and they all faced the centre of the room. One person could fit in each of these. I started doing parkour with a bunch of people inside the room, and then we were informed we had to go inside a compartment, any compartment. I went inside one of them. We were then explained the rules of the game: it was basically dodgeball, except that we had to stay inside our comparments, we were only allowed to go outside to chase after a ball, or if we were hit, in which case we just had to switch to a different compartment. I noticed Diego was in the opposite side of the room. The game started, I ran after a ball, and threw it at a guy form my school who I don't like. Balls were then thrown at me from all diretions, I some how managed to dodge them. The game went on for a couple of hours, although it was kinda dumb, the game was fun. After the game was over, Diego and I went to a room that had a T.V, and couches. We sat on a couch and started watching T.V. .We were told that we had to go to sleep, Diego and I decided to stay at that room watching T.V. maybe no one would notice. After a while I stared falling asleep, and next thing I know it's 6:00 in the morning. The T.V. was off, but Diego seemed to be awake. I asked him if he had slept at all, he told me not a single second of sleep. I told him me neither, but then I remembered the dream about the yatch and the island, and I explained him about it. I notice there were more people in the room, but I couldn't make up their faces. Most of them were asleep. One of them then sits besides me and hugs me. I realize it is Fabiola (A friend of mine who lives in Florida, she is probably the prettiest girl I know, I used to like her about 5 years ago). She fell asleep beside me, hugging me. I put my arm around her. Diego grins and I know he meant "I should tap that. I seem to fall asleep, and in the morning I wake up next to Fabiola, who is now waking up as well. I tell her I missed her, and I didn't know she was in the city. She tells me she is just visiting her cousin. She asks what I'm going to do now that I'm about to graduate, I tell her I'm planning of becoming a doctor and move to Florida, she smiles and tells me it sounds like a good plan.

I wake up, look at the clock, it's 11:45.

I forgot to mention that I beat the basic task a couple nights ago. I killed a guy who was trying to kill me which happens often. I never loose. :P
