I missed the first class. Shame on me! Here's the first assignment:
Go through your dream journal and analyze where the content of your dreams comes from. Is it mostly day residue? Do you notice a lot of false memories or faulty logic in them?
I've analyzed most of it, and it seems like my dreams are a mixture of things. When I have much on my mind, and things I worry about, the dominating thing is Day Residue for sure.
For an example: The last two days, I've had dreams about me breaking up with my girlfriend. This is because I just decided to study, and might have to move, and if she won't move with me, we might have to break up.
I usually don't have that many false memories, but here's an example from my DJ:
"Apparently I had broken up with Monica the other day..."
I had done no such thing, but accepted it without thinking much of it.
I often end up in strange scenarios though, and feel like I've got to do something. People don't behave normally around me.
One thing I've noticed is that my ID is pretty badass. Luckily I've got a great ego and superego which keeps the ID in check while I'm awake. I'm often evil in my dreams and I do stuff that I would never do in real life. Although in many dreams I've got a fear of being unfaithful.
Well that's it, I will try to make it to the next class for sure!
Alright so here's the next assignment!:
Go through your dream journal and see if you can notice any reoccurring signs that are popping up. Make a list!
Dreamcharacters don't behave like they do IRL.
I'm always in strange scenarios.
Work.
Violence of some kind.
Bonus marks: Find out which sign occurs the most and incorporate reality checking to the sign into your daily routine.
The sign I can use is that of Dreamcharacters don't behave normally. I've started thinking about how people behave while I'm awake, and to really imprint their actions they do as how they SHOULD behave. This way, I will notice any change in behavior more easily while dreaming. Hopefully!
Nice one :)Quote:

Just read the Tutorial#3 and it was awesome reading as always! I can't make it to chat tonight, but will read the script tomorrow as soon as I wake up.
Next assignment!
Review your current sleep schedule. Taking what you know about DILDs and WILDs, which technique would best work for you for inducing lucid dreams?
I get excited very easily, so I don't think WILD is something for me. I'll just break the trance and wake up. Although I fall asleep very easily so it might be something for me anyways? I will try it later on, when I'm more experienced. I will stick to DILD and MILD.
Bonus: Knowing this, you may want to look into signing up for that specific course when it’s offered next. I'm in the MILD class so bonus points for me
Maybe not, but it's a fantastic course, nonetheless :DQuote:

Just read the 4th tutorial and great job Serenity! I haven't tried very hard the last few days, because of work. But I will soon get rid of that problem and if I'm (un)lucky I will have almost a whole year to just sit on my ass, and dream!
Assignment: Think of 2-3 goals that you would like to accomplish. They could be anything! If you need some inspiration, check out some tasks from the Task of the Month forum. How would you attempt each goal?
*Teleport using a door: I will try to find a door, and with all my willpower, try to teleport using it. I want to end up in either the jungle or on a beach. I have to believe 100% that it will work ofcourse, but I have also thought of a trick to use. Let's say I will try to go to the beach. I will then see sand coming from under the door crack and hear the ocean on the other side, before opening the door. I will try this in my next Lucid!
*Shoot fire with my hands: This is a very tricky one for me. I have tried since the beginning of this year to do stuff with fire. I have done so in regular dreams but the only things I have managed to do with fire is: Set an old lady on fire, a lighter flame and make a burn mark. I think it requires some more practice and that I will manage to do it some day. But I won't waste all my Lucid time, trying to make something I cannot make. Then I will have to accept it and move on.
The one thing people seem to have problem doing, is flying. I couldn't fly properly in the beginning, and I have done so since I was a kid. I then flew like you do in Supermario64. I have a theory on how you can do it easier: If you have a memory of going up in the air real fast, on an amusement park attraction. The brain will remember that feeling, and make it happen easier in dreams! That's how I do it to start flying. I look down and expect to fly up real fast.
If I want to control fire, I will just have to practice and practice. Like telekinesis. One dream I could just do it. And when I've done it, I can do it again!
That's one I have to learn still, is portaling... I think I'm going with the door method, too. Especially if I don't really have a scene in mind :D
I hope you don't get unlucky, but man, what I wouldn't give to be able to have a year to work on dreaming! I'd want cash though, too, so I'd have to win the lottery, first :D
I changed my dreamgoal for the next time after reading the MILD chat. I will try to get to the desert (if not already there, then teleport by using door) and fly around.
And yeah, it's like a win win situation for me haha. I got the money to take a whole year off. Won't be able to do that in the future and I mean, why not? :) We'll see what happens.
IF I do it. I will start a thread about it, and really get into dreaming. Like change my sleeping schedule, WBTB, WILD and really experiment.
