I am in a large room. There are lots of people sitting at tables getting ready to eat a large meal. I am not sure what the celebration is for. I ask to sit down. The people seem very agreeable and ask me to join them. I don't remember eating much, but I got up after the first course and walked to a table where there was a tambourine. The music that the band was playing was ok, but this instrument made some dissonant, bad sounding, music. The people at this table say that it will not be used again. I walk back to my table for the second course. I tell the people about the tambourine. They seemed a little disconcerted; about my coming back to their table. Has my welcome worn off some? I can't remember the music that the band was playing other than the one instrument was totally out of place...
Day Residue:
I am anticipating going to a potluck dinner this Saturday.
False memory:
The large dining room seemed to be a familiar place.
Faulty Reasoning:
Not sure why I decided to sit down at this table; I did not know the occasion for the dinner or the people at the table. The tambourine and the cool reception I received when retuning for the second course may have represented these concerns.
Confronted
I am in a large lecture hall. It is filling with people. I want to hear the speaker, but will leave if I am not interested. I look for a seat near the back so I can leave. I sit down next to a lady. Another lady sits next to me. The two women start to talk to each other as if they know each other. A third sit in the row ahead of us. They start to talk to me. I am very self conscious. The women are very beautiful. They determine that I am a solitary person and are very upset that I am this way. I want to tell them more, but don't because being to self conscious.
False Memory:
The lecture hall setting reminds me of work division meetings; wanting to leave if I have no interest.
Day Residue:
I had a disagreement with my wife, and I didn't want to expose my feelings or betray her.
Faulty Reasoning:
Not knowing where I am or what the large meeting is about.
Being to self conscious to speak with the women.

Skateboarding
I get the idea that if more than one person are on a skateboard then you can get a lot more lift and actually fly. Well, I find myself on a skateboard with two other people. We get to the top of a hill and start down. Sure enough we lift off and start flying through the air; it is very exhilarating, the three of us on the skateboard. I am in the middle and start to get a little anxious of the speed and height. I fall off, but am able to grab hold of the board. We continue on with me dangling from the board...
Day Residue:
I frequently will walk past a skateboarding park near home.
False Memories:
I felt as if I were near home but the hills and streets are unknown to me.
Faulty Reasoning:
Why more than one person on a skateboard would be able to fly.

Wild Bus Ride
I am in the city to see an event of some sorts. I'm walking on a college like quad. Others are also walking here, some to see this event. It is night time and I look up at the sky. There are meteorites and comets, quite a sky show, but I do not seem to be to impressed. I walk to the building where the event is being held. The event seems to be over and people are leaving. I decide that I should also be going home. I am not sure where this home is other than it is a destination I want to get to. I walk to the street where I meet a woman going the same way. There is no one about, so I ask her if she is going the same direction as me. She is going the same way and we agree to walk together. She does not seem to want to talk much and is wearing a hooded jacket. We walk a ways together. I believe I know where I am, but it seems that I have much longer way to go than I thought. I wish the woman would be more open. She says now that she needs to go down another street in a different direction. I am sorry to see her go but I want to continue to my destination. I continue by myself for a while, walking and looking at the buildings along the street. A car pulls up. Someone who seems to know me asks if I would like a ride. The car is a convertible and there are a couple of other people with him. I get in and we continue down the street. The people want to go into the city, but I would just rather continue to my destination. We make a turn and start going toward the center of town. I am not happy about this but accept that we are going a different way. We go a short way when we come to a railroad crossing. There are about 10 tracks crossing the road. It seem like a switching yard area and we have to proceed slowly across the tracks. I look and a train is coming from the right. The car stops on the tracks. I look left and an engine is coming toward us from the other direction. We start to make a U-turn, but are moving very slow. I tell the driver to hurry up. He says he has the car floored and that there is something wrong with it. We slowly make our turn and get off the tracks. I get out of the car and decide to continue walking to my destination. I leave the people with the car. It is very dark out and I am in a poor black neighborhood. There are people in the street. I do not want to stay here long, so I start to run thinking that I won't be around long enough to be noticed. I run past people hoping I won't be attacked. I am almost back to my street when some one jumps out and grabs me. It gives me quite a start, but it is a white guy who says he has been waiting for me. He owns a shop on the street. He says that I have special ability. He shows me a sword and says that I will be able to kill the gang members with it. I protest and say that I can not possibly do this. He says that I won't actually be doing the killing, but that my ability is that I am telepathically connected to his laser device that will kill the gang members. I don't want anything to do with his scheme, and want to continue on to my destination. I just leave him and continue walking down the street. As I am walking I start talking with another DC. He says that we can take the bus. We go to the bus stop and wait for a short time and a bus comes. We get onto the bus and continue down the street. The bus stops for a while for some unknown reason. I ask the driver if we can continue; he gives a startled expression and starts driving. The person I am with says, 'No don't tell him to go yet!', but the driver has already started. I am looking out the window. It is still nighttime and seems to be winter time. There is lots of ice on the road. Suddenly the bus lurches and goes into a big skid across the street. No sooner than the bus driver recovers from the skid, the bus starts skidding the other direction. The bus driver seems to be speeding up and continues to be sliding all over the street in these frightening slides across the street. Finally the we come to a stop in a huge skid that causes a wave of ice and slush to cover the bus. I get out and am not sure how the others in the bus made out. A couple of people walk out, they seem a bit shaken. The man I was with is carried out. He is covered in frozen ice and slush and looks dead. I think it strange that all the people who joined up with me today have gone their own ways. I still need to get to my destination...

I was planning a trip into the city for sometime in the near future.
False Memories:
The route I was on was familiar, but the detail were not correct.
Faulty Reasoning:
Not being impressed by the meteorites in the sky. Not knowing where I was, or the nature of the event I was at. My destination was ultimately to get home but the direction I was going not right. I was trying to get back to an old neighborhood where I grew up in the city. Running hoping that there will not be time for people to notice me. Believing that I was connected to the mans killing machine. Wanting to continue to my destination after the wild bus ride.

White squirrel
I am at the back door window. I look outside and see a white (albino) baby squirrel. I yell to my wife to come take a look at it. She does not come but is at the front porch talking with our daughter. I go to the porch and see my daughter holding a baby squirrel curled up in her hand (normal color). It likes being petted. I notice a white squirrel out the window. I am a little concerned that she may get bitten. Katie says that the little squirrel is such a dream. I fail to pick up on the clue.

I have dream imagery appear in a number of dreams where someone is sleeping, snoring, mentions dreaming, reality checking, or LD. A reality check should be made in RL when any dream related comments are made
Reoccurring Dream Signs:
Being at work – Even though I am retired I have dreams where I am back working. A RC should be made when I think about my old job, or I notice something related to the job.
Driving with passengers – Often find myself in a car with dream characters.
When waking up – Test for a false awaking whenever waking up.
Cats – Reality check when seeing a cat or someone mentions a cat.

I want to go out and jog, but I need to go to the bathroom first. There is someone in the bathroom and I am waiting for him to come out. The road I want to jog on is a dirt road but there is a lot of traffic. I don't want to jog with all the cars on the road. I decide that I don't need the bathroom right away, and will go jogging. I am on the dirt road and there is not much traffic, but I am on the lookout for cars. I am able to maintain jogging for a while. There are a number of small hills that I need to jog climb. On the way up it becomes more difficult to run and I swerve across the dirt road. I am careful to watch for cars coming over the hill. Going down is easier. I jog for a while like this then I find myself in the middle of a creek at the mouth of a river. How did I get here. I must not have been paying attention when the road ended at the creek. I climb back out and check out the large river that the creek flows into. There are large ocean like waves on the shore. The river is running very fast; there is a steep river bank that leads down to the river. A jeep comes careening down the road, over the riverbank and into the river. The car floats in the river. Two DCs come looking for the jeep, one jumps in to try to recover it. The jeep floats around in the river and comes to rest on the steep bank. We are walking back down the road. We come to a building that has a narrow ledge next to the river that we have to cross. Walking with my back to the wall I am able to get across. The building is a garage and I am trying to open the door that is facing the river. There is a switch I am trying to turn on, but can not reach...
Dream sign: Jogging. I can not jog in real live due to an injury. If I have a lucid dream I will jog or run instead of fly. Jogging also shows up spontaneously. Skateboarding, ice skating, roller skating also are common.

I've had this happen :) Although now, if the word dream is mentioned, it tends to trigger off something in the back of my head, and makes me lucid. RC's are still a bit harder to catch. I watched someone do one, I did one too and it failed. They always fail for me when I'm dreaming :?Quote:

I am with a group of DCs. We are walking to a restaurant in the center of town. We come to Main St. I see that we are standing a the top a large hill of road construction debris. The hill is so tall that it overlooks the entire business section of town. We decide to climb down the debris hill. We get down the hill without much trouble, and go to the restaurant. We are sitting at a table when we find out that we can register for a large banquet party that will be held upstairs. We all want to go to the banquet. It comes time for the banquet to start, but we find ourselves at the end of a long line. We hear there is a limit on how many that will be allowed to enter the banquet. We realize that we will not be able to attend so we go back to the restaurant. They give us a large room where our group can spread out. People start passing around drinks and start getting loud and rowdy. The owner comes in and asks us all to leave. He is very nice about it and says we should come back when we are sober. I notice while leaving that the wooden exit door is very intricately carved with ornate animal designs.

Signs have been posted in town for road construction.
I was at a restaurant last night and found out about a birthday party that will be held tomorrow.
Dream Signs:
The view standing atop the construction pile overlooking town, and the ease of coming down. I was thinking this was a lot easier to get down than what appeared to be when at the top of the pile.

I am at work in the lab. I am wearing a old blue lab coat. The lab has been dismantled. I am sitting on the floor, and do not want to be seen because I no longer work there. I make my way out to the west end. I look out the window. I want to go to the 300 building where my car is. There are a number of dinosaurs in the parking lot. They are running toward the bulding I am in. If I wait a little bit they will be gone. The way is clear and I go into the field. I want to go into the parking lot. There is a swamp there with a wooden ramp to the bathrooms. I want to go take a shower there. There are two people there fighting an alligator. It wont let me pass. The two say they will handle it. I don't want them to hurt the alligator. They flip the alligator over and body slam him into the ground. I can see the alligator is badly injured. I make it to the showers. Inside I am having a hard time getting my clothes off. I am in a hurry and my clothes seem to just stick to my body. Another person comes into the shower. I am embarrassed and put my clothes back on. I go out and walk to the 300 bldg. A woman meets me outside. She comes up to me and gives me a large shiny brass key with a hex shaped head. She says I ordered them before I left and the new person did not know how to use it. I take the key but do not know what to do with it.
Dream Sign:
I am back at where I used to work. This is a sure dream sign but I it seldom triggers a reality check.

I was watched a TV program about alligator hunting.
Faulty Logic:
Seeing dinosaurs not triggering a RC.
Reminds me of a "jurassic park" dream I had. I was with my family and we were hiding from the dinosaurs... by hanging off of meat hooks. Oh, the irony :)
Have you done much reality checking during the course of the day while awake? Sometimes, I notice that I will be more apt to recognize dreams if I've been really good at RC's during the day. Honestly, it's an overall basic awareness. Being aware during the day crosses over into dreaming.
Some dreams from the past week.

I am in a parked van. We are parked on a large grass lot. There is a fare or music festival going on off in the distance. The van's sliding side door is open and I am sitting on the floor board facing the outside. A woman is sitting next to me. A cat is sitting on my lap. I am petting the cat and talking with the woman. The woman asks me about the cat. I say that I know this cat. The parking lot and festival also seem familiar to me. After a while the cat jumps down and heads off. The woman ask if the cat will be ok in the parking lot. I say tell her that the cat lives nearby and will fine. I am looking around when I see a large animal moving quickly on the other side of the van. I move to the front seat and see a large monkey in the trees near us. The woman says it is a spider monkey. I wonder what it is doing here. The windows are open and the monkey comes out of tree and sits down on the drivers seat next to me. The monkey is not a spider monkey but is a large baboon, almost as big as me. I am looking at him face to face. I become fearful that I might get bitten. I start to growl at him and show my teeth. I think that this is definitely not the right thing to do to a large baboon sitting next to me. He has a very impressive looking face. The baboon has a very intelligent expression, and seems to be thinking how dumb I am. The baboon leaves and I wake up.
I am on a trip with my family and a group of people to see a large park. We are travailing by bus or train. We get to the park, but decide it is time to leave. My wife and I leave, but we get lost. We start walking through a building, but go down into the basement and find a long tunnel. We go through the tunnel and come out in an outside courtyard. We are still lost and start making calls on the cell phone. The phone does not seem to work. I try to call 911, but can not get through. Seems like its a Sunday and everything is closed. I get very frustrated and start to yell at my wife. She just says, give me my phone back. I feel like an idiot. We meet some other people on the trip. It seems that that we all missed the bus and it left without us. We will have to stay in this area overnight before we can get back. We find places to lay down to sleep for the night.

I'm playing baseball. There are about 3 or 4 of us playing. One DC is a old boss of mine. We have uniforms on. The batter is hitting the balls by himself and the rest of us are playing on the left field side. I'm playing 3rd base. I miss a ground ball that bounced past me. The next one the batter hits into right field were nobody is playing. The batter is laughing as he runs around the bases. I think that was pretty mean thing to do.
Attempted a WILD last night. I did not fall asleep consciously, but did go quickly into a dream state. I am in a long line waiting for entry into a LD course. I am near the middle of the line, but it is moving very slowly. When I get near the front of the line they move everyone back because they are causing to much disturbance. Finally I get to enter. There are a couple of tables where packets of information are being handed out. I get my packet and start going through it. The person next to me is going through hers also. We try to compare our two packets, but it is to confusing. I am supprized to see that JM is there. I didn't know you were interested in LD. She replies that she has been for a while.

Attempted a WILD last night. When I woke up I remembered dreaming about an Afghanistan news clip which seemed to show solders passing around a joint when they got back from a mission.
Did not become lucid but had a several short dreams. I am in the countryside at a resort like motel. We are looking at the rooms. We believe that we have stayed here in the past. They have new rooms now. The old ones we say were out molded but had nice deep baths. We go inside one. The baths look old and are not in a separate bathroom. One looks deep the others not so deep. They seem highly pitted, maybe from age. I am talking with the owner. He does not want to supply pot to the residents anymore. They are angry about this and say they will move elsewhere.
I am outside on a street in a business district. I have a small cart and am pulling it into a cafe. The cart has a tree on it. As I pull it into the building the tree starts to fall apart. There is not much left when I get it inside. There are some people eating. A woman says that she can use the cart. I let her have it, and leave. Outside there is an argument with the owner, about buying to many gas cylinders. The suppler shows him the bill. There is some kind of gas that a employee says that he needs. Can't remember the gas name, it was a false memory and not a real gas. The owner is somewhat satisfied with the explanation.
I am with two young precocious girls. We are sitting in a car. They are sitting very near me. There is a parking meter that is expiring. The driver comes adds money to the strange meter, and then leaves. It has a large video screen and displays info that does not seem related to parking. The one girl is very attractive to me. The other seem a bit jealous. We are inside a cafe. We order some desserts. It seems as if I am falling asleep and my ice cream falls on my head. I wake up. I can't tell the girls apart. I give one a hug, but she is unresponsive. They start to gross me out. I am just to self conscious and wake up.

Attempted a WILD last night. I woke up before the alarm. I remembered dreaming that I am in a lab. The lab is rather old with wooden cabinets and the equipment does not look very modern. I am talking with a large black man who is the head of the lab. He is complaining that soon he will be out of a job. He has a sample and needs to determine if there is any poison on it. We take the sample to the back of the lab where there is a hood. We do something to it and it starts to smoke, slowly at first and then faster. We have to close the hood sash in order to make it stop smoking, but the sample is ruined and we have not determined whether there was any poison on it. He asks me to go over to the next building and pick up another sample. On the way there I talk to a couple of others and tell them about our sample. I walk over to the other building. The entrance is very strange. It is like a construction area. There are many metal stakes, rebar, that are pounded into the ground. I have to walk carefully around the stakes. The entrance to the lab is a large manhole like opening. There are several people mulling around the entrance. I start to go down the opening. I tell them that they are not supposed to smoke down in the lab. They say right, whatever. I go down and distinctly smell a tobacco odor. I look around and am totally amazed. I am in a large cavern like structure. I believe I'm under a superhighway. I can hear the cars noise above. The cavern slopes down. At the far side are large underground construction pylons, concrete columns. I start to walk down the cavern slope. Near the bottom a man yells to me that the sample is down hear. I go into a wonderful controlled slide. Like skateboarding without a skateboard. When I get to the bottom I have to make a wide, overshooting turn because of my speed. I am going very fast. I put my left food down on the ground to slow up, thinking this may hurt. It doesn't, but I can feel the ground under my foot and the force slowing me up and I come to stop. There is a dog at the bottom. I sit down and say hello to the dog. He puts his head on my legs and sniffs. I get the impression that the dog thinks there is something wrong with me. I say to the dog, yes I am not quite right, then wake up.

Attempted a WILD last night. I woke up before the alarm. I remembered dreaming that I am in a lab at work. There is a setup in the right side with instruments on the bench and in the hood. On the left side it is sparser with some books and an oven. There are a number of DCs with me. One is the technician who is running the lab. Two other DCs decide to leave. I go with them. They decide to take a strange way out. There is a ladder in the lab that we climb. It goes up to a fire escape landing. The landing raises up into the air and something seems to go wrong. We start to sway quickly back and forth. I hang on. I see a fire truck below, a hook and ladder with the ladder extended. I say how did we get way up here, we are above a fire truck... I am walking in the hallway at work. I go through a new lab. I think how nice everything is. Next door is a large, new office where someone I know is setting up his desk and files. I think how nice he has it, good for him. I continue on. It seems to be Christmas time. There are tacky decorations put up in the lobby. I go outside and look at the sky. It is nighttime and the stars show vivid constellations. I go downstairs where there is a strange fight going on. Creatures with a unicorn horn on there head are involved. I can see the winner, and think that it is good that he won.
I am in an exercise class, there is a male instructor. We are doing a warmup routine. I don't have a shoe on yet. Its just warm ups so I just put my shoe on. I think this is strange. I remember (previous dream is only a fragment) I was just in an exercise class doing a strenuous routine with a female instructor. I find myself at the female instructors house. There are a couple of DCs with her. We are going to take her truck to a gym. We get into the truck, three of us in the front seat, a tight fit. The DC in the middle make a call on her cell phone. The phone is the same model as mine. I think it odd because its such an old phone. The instructor drives the truck right down the hallways of her building. The turns are very tight. People have to get out of the way, but she is able to get the truck out of the building. We are diving down the street. The gym we wanted to go to is not open so we are going somewhere else.
Fire in the wind
I am sitting with my family next to a house we had just bought. My wife and kids are very young, one is a baby. The house is old and not very good. I am watching the sky. It is bright clear daylight. Every so often the wind picks up. There are glowing embers being picked up by the wind and being blown toward us. The glowing embers are high in the sky and come down near us. They set a tree next to us on fire. We watch the embers and the fire and think that we should tell the people who are burning off in the distance. We decide to go into the house. Its time to put the baby to bed. I put him into cardboard box up on a shelf. I turn around and see two more babies sleeping. That's right I think, we had several kids at the hospital. I go upstairs, and there is this strange band setup. I am both watching and part of the band at the same time. The song we start playing is a familiar one (but can't remember). The instruments and people are all swaying, moving, and being distorted in time with the music. It is just totally fascinating to watch. I have to stop playing because it is time for bed and the kids are asleep.
Assignment Dream goals when I become lucid. Of course getting lucid is the main goal, as well as learning how to WILD successfully.
I want to meet people who I know by flying to their home. I would like to fly with them, and see if they have any recollection of the dream.
I want to be able to successfully stabilize a dream by spinning.
I like to run while dreaming. I want to have a long lucid dream of running, and jumping.
I want to walk through my bedroom mirror into a past life.
